Cosmetic Slots, Item Rendering, and Cursor Behavior in Accessories
Accessories adds a dedicated interface for equipping items and tuning how they appear, and this guide covers its cosmetic slots, rendering overrides, and cursor-related behavior. Everything is handled through the mod's screen and its config options rather than through crafting.
Opening the Interface
Use the Open Accessories Screen action to bring up the mod's main interface. If you want that screen reachable from your inventory, the mod provides Injected Button Offsets, split into an Inventory Button Offset and a Creative Inventory Button Offset, so the button can sit where you want it in each inventory type. Assign the open action to the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu).
Cosmetic Slots
Cosmetic slots let you control appearance separately from function. The Show Cosmetic Slots and Hide Cosmetic Slots actions toggle their visibility, and the Show Item Cosmetic Rendering setting governs whether equipped cosmetics actually render on the item. If you prefer a cleaner layout, the Show all Unused Slots and Hide all Unused Slots options control whether empty slots take up space, and a related toggle filters unused slots out of view.
Layout and Screen Options
The Accessories screen is configurable. You can choose between a Scrollable Layout and a Paginated Layout for the slots, and a slider adjusts the Column amount for the layout. The widget itself can be repositioned with Move Accessories Widget to the Right and Move Accessories Widget to the Left. A side widget can either sit alongside the Accessories widget or be placed opposite it, and it can be shown or hidden.
Group tools are also available: Show group filter widget and Hide group filter widget control that element, Show quick seeking group tabs adds tabs for jumping between groups, and Reset Group Filters clears your filtering. Theme options let you switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode, with a Darkened Brightness slider for the dark theme. You can also toggle the small crafting grid, including allowing it within the sidebar.
Rendering Overrides
Several settings affect how equipped items are drawn. Disabled Default Rendering (also listed as Disabled Default Renderers) lets you turn off an item's normal rendering, and Force Empty Render Replacement forces an empty render in its place. Show Equipped Stacks Slot Type controls whether the slot type of an equipped stack is displayed. Line rendering can be turned on or off wholesale with the Show all Line Rendering and Hide all Line Rendering options. Use Experimental Caching is available if you want to try the caching path, and Disable Empty Accessory Error suppresses the error shown for empty accessory slots.
Cursor Behavior
The entity on screen can be made to follow your pointer. Make Entity follow the Mouse Cursor enables this, and it can be disabled again from the same option. This is a display behavior only — it changes where the entity looks, not what it does.
Equipping and Inventory Behavior
Quick Hand Equip Mode changes how equipping from your hand works. Allow Screen Slot Scrolling permits scrolling through slots on the screen, and Keep Accessory Inventory preserves your accessory inventory. Note that some commands only apply to living entities; a selector that includes non-living entities will be rejected with an error.
Config Screen
The Accessories Config screen holds these options, with extra configuration options that can be shown or hidden as needed.
