Accessories Mod Guide: Opening the Screen, Equipping Items, and Basic Controls
The Accessories screen is the central place where you manage accessory slots and the items placed in them. You reach it through its own interface entry rather than through crafting, and once inside you can equip gear, adjust the layout, and change how the screen looks.
Opening the Screen
The mod provides an Open Accessories Screen action. Trigger it with the corresponding hotkey, which you assign yourself in the controls menu. The screen can also be reached from a button injected into your inventory; the position of that button is governed by the Inventory Button Offset setting, and a separate Creative Inventory Button Offset controls the same button inside the creative inventory. A To Previous Screen control returns you to the screen you came from.
Equipping Items
Equipping happens directly in the interface. When an item sits in a slot, the screen shows which slot it occupies, and the Show Equipped Stacks Slot Type option (also listed as showEquippedStackSlotType) controls whether that slot type is displayed. If you prefer a faster route, Quick Hand Equip Mode (equipControl) changes how equipping from your hand behaves. Cosmetic rendering of equipped items is handled separately through Show Item Cosmetic Rendering (showCosmeticAccessories), and the cosmetic slots themselves can be revealed or concealed with Show Cosmetic Slots and Hide Cosmetic Slots.
Layout and Navigation
Accessories are arranged in a layout you can reshape. A slider adjusts the number of columns, and you can switch between a paginated arrangement and a scrollable one. Allow Screen Slot Scrolling (allowSlotScrolling) permits scrolling through slots. Unused slots can be filtered out entirely, and Reset Group Filters clears any group filtering you have applied. Group tabs for quick seeking can be turned on or off, and the group filter widget can be shown or hidden. The side widget can either sit alongside the accessories widget or be placed on the opposite side, and the accessories widget itself can be shifted left or right. A small crafting grid can be displayed in the sidebar if you allow it.
Appearance and Extra Options
The screen supports a light theme and a dark theme, toggled between Light Mode and Dark Mode; Use Dark mode theme (isDarkMode) reflects the current choice, and Darkened Brightness tunes how dark it gets. Extra configuration options can be shown or hidden, and unused slots can likewise be shown or hidden. Line rendering can be turned on or off across the screen. You can make the entity follow your mouse cursor, or stop it from doing so. Default renderers can be disabled, and Force Empty Render Replacement and Disable Empty Accessory Error are available as additional toggles. Use Experimental Caching and the Experimental Screen option are also present.
Config Basics
The Accessories Config screen (title) gathers these settings. Keep Accessory Inventory (keepAccessoryInventory) preserves your accessory inventory. Show Accessories Slots (enabled) governs whether accessory slots appear at all. Selected Screen Type (selectedScreenType) determines which screen layout style is active, and Disabled Default Rendering (disabledDefaultRenders) lists renderers that have been switched off. Slot amount modifiers affect how many slots are presented.
Notes on Commands
Command handling includes a restriction: only living entities can be affected by a given command, yet a provided selector may include entities that are not alive, which produces the nonLiving error.
