Forging Aether Shields, Harvesting Clouds, and Masonry
Crafting reinforced aerial bucklers in Aether: Lost Content Addon utilizes gemstone reserves and buoyant sky materials. Beyond dungeon expeditions, the addon introduces dedicated defense shields, cloud harvesting techniques, and architectural stonecutting recipes that enrich your settlement on the floating islands.
Assembling Zanite and Gravitite Shields
While vanilla shields rely on iron and wood, the sky dimension provides unique gemstones that absorb heavy impacts:
- Forging the
Zanite Shield: In a crafting table, place
Zanite Gemstone in the top-left, top-right, middle-left, center, middle-right, and bottom-center slots, placing a wooden stick in the top-center slot. This sturdy crystal shield provides dependable defense against airborne projectiles. - Crafting the
Gravitite Shield: Place six pieces of
Enchanted Gravitite in the shield formation around a wooden stick. Gravitite shields harness antigravity energy to deflect physical blows. - Field maintenance: Damaged shields can be repaired on an anvil using additional matching gemstones to preserve their durability across long journeys.
Gathering and Enchanting Pink Aerclouds
High above the floating islands, specialized atmospheric layers generate colorful aercloud formations:
- Natural cloud generation: Natural patches of
Pink Aercloud generate at high sky altitudes between Y levels 160 and 185 with a rarity chance of 200. - Cloud bounce properties: Touching pink aerclouds propels players into buoyant leaps, making them valuable cushions for avoiding fall damage.
- Altar enchanting: Placing a gathered block of
Pink Aercloud into an Aether Altar fueled with ambrosium shards enchants the material into an
Enchanted Pink Aercloud. These glowing blocks also appear inside platinum treasure loot chests with a drop chance of 0.2174 in quantities of 2 to 3 blocks.
Cutting Gale Stone Architecture
Building palatial sky fortresses is made possible by processing durable
Gale Stone recovered from dungeon architecture:
- Bench crafting: Combining three
Gale Stone blocks in a horizontal row crafts six
Gale Slab pieces. Six stones arranged in stair formation yield four
Gale Stairs, while six stones in two rows produce six
Gale Wall sections. - Precision stonecutting: Placing
Gale Stone into a stonecutter directly yields
Gale Pillar,
Gale Slab,
Gale Stairs,
Light Gale Stone, or
Gale Wall blocks, eliminating crafting waste.
Duplicating the Noble Armor Trim Template
Adventurers who recover the rare Noble Armor Trim Smithing Template from dungeon explorations can duplicate the pattern to customize entire armor sets. Surrounding one template and one block of
Gale Stone with seven diamonds across a crafting table duplicates the template, producing two identical smithing templates.
