The Aether's rewards come from its mythical creatures and its three dungeons. This guide covers what to seek out.

Creatures and mounts

The dimension is home to mythical mobs, several of which are useful rather than just hostile. The Aether's rideable creatures let you cross the gaps between floating islands safely — a major convenience given the fall risk — and other animals provide the dimension's unique drops. Taming and breeding them is part of establishing yourself in the skylands.

The three dungeons

The heart of the Aether is its trio of dungeons, each escalating in difficulty and guarding a boss. Clearing them yields the mod's powerful loot items — the signature rewards that make the dimension worth mastering. Each dungeon has its own theme and challenge, so prepare thoroughly before entering.

Progressing

Work through the Aether in order: gather ores and gear from the skylands, tame a mount to travel safely, then take on the dungeons for their loot. Because the dimension has a full survival progression of its own, treat it as a self-contained adventure with the dungeon bosses as its milestones.
