Sun Altar in The Aether is the crowning sacred monument of the Gold Dungeon, where adventurers battle the Sun Spirit to gain control over the sky realm's daylight cycle.
Infiltrating the Golden Dungeon Complex
Conquering the most hazardous dungeon in the Aether requires locating a massive spherical golden labyrinth:
- Search for enormous floating golden island spheres suspended high above the standard cloud canopy.
- Penetrate the outer labyrinth walls using high-tier tools, navigating hazardous magma pits and fire traps.
- Defeat guardian sentries spawned from a Fire Minion Spawn Egg that patrol the labyrinth's gilded corridors.
- Defeating previous dungeon tiers awards the prerequisite keys, progressing from a
Bronze Key up to a gleaming 
Gold Key. - Unlocking the central boss sanctum reveals the blazing Sun Altar radiating intense solar heat across the chamber.
- Ensure your character is equipped with fire resistance potions and heavy ice-infused armor before challenging the altar's master.
Slaying the Sun Spirit and Claiming Solar Relics
Challenging the boss demands tactical parrying rather than direct melee aggression:
- Interact with the Sun Altar to awaken the wrathful Sun Spirit hovering above the chamber floor.
- Direct sword strikes cannot harm the Sun Spirit while he remains shrouded in impenetrable solar flames.
- When the boss launches burning ice crystal projectiles, strike the incoming spheres with a sword to deflect them backward.
- Reflected projectiles shatter the spirit's thermal shield, dealing massive damage and stunning him momentarily.
- Repeat the deflecting sequence three times to extinguish the boss completely and claim victory over the Gold Dungeon.
- Claim legendary treasures from the altar's unlocked chest, including the incendiary
Flaming Sword and slow-falling 
Golden Feather. - Interacting with the conquered Sun Altar allows the player to stop or restart the permanent daylight cycle at will.
- Extinguishing the Sun Spirit permanently pacifies the golden labyrinth, unlocking the central chamber for secure outpost construction.
- Wielding the fiery flaming sword scorches hostile dungeon mobs, setting attackers ablaze with intense solar fury.
- Equipping the golden feather provides permanent gentle descent, preventing fatal impact damage during dungeon exploration.
- Defeating the Gold Dungeon marks the triumphant culmination of heroic adventuring across the celestial Aether dimension.
