Alex's Mobs: A Guide to the Mod's Creatures
Alex's Mobs adds 89 new creatures to Minecraft, split between real-world animals and fictional beasts, and every one serves a purpose. This guide introduces the mod.
Real and fictional creatures
Most of the mod's mobs are real animals — Grizzly Bears, Roadrunners, Orcas and many more — that make their environments feel alive. Others are purely fictional, like the Endergrade and the Bone Serpent. None are purely decorative: each has unique drops, mechanics or functions.
Drops and mechanics
Because every creature has a purpose, hunting or interacting with them yields useful rewards — special drops, tameable companions, or behaviors you can exploit. The mod's models, textures and AI are built to match vanilla's style, so the new animals blend in rather than stand out.
Getting started
Explore different biomes to find the mod's creatures — each tends to inhabit an environment that fits it. As you encounter them, note their drops and whether they can be tamed or bred. The creatures guide covers some of the standout mobs and what they offer, so you know which are worth seeking out first.
