Weapon Smithing and Elemental Module Upgrades in Apocalypse Now

guide

Elemental weapon modules convert standard melee weapons into electrified shock batons and blazing incendiary blades in Apocalypse Now. Utilizing the smithing table, survivors can weld high-voltage capacitors and chemical burner tubes onto scrap weapons to inflict devastating elemental damage against mutant hordes.

Fabricating Elemental Modules

Crafting elemental modules requires salvaging electronics, batteries, and volatile accelerants from industrial ruins:

  • Assembling an Electrical Module requires combining one scrapmetal piece, one copper ingot, one copper wire, two electrical scrap pieces, and one AA Battery in a crafting table. The compact battery and wiring deliver high-voltage electrical arcs upon weapon impact.
  • Assembling a Fire Module requires combining one scrapmetal piece, one iron ingot, one flint and steel, one copper wire, one oil canister, and one engineering parts set. The pressurized fuel reservoir ignites targets with clinging chemical flames.

Both modules serve as reusable modification blueprints in smithing operations.

Upgrading Melee Weapons at the Smithing Table

Once a module is assembled, players bring their chosen melee weapon and the module to a standard smithing table:

These electrified and incendiary weapons significantly increase survivor combat effectiveness against heavily armored military mutants and resilient wasteland creatures. Maintaining modified weapons with repair kits ensures continuous defensive capability against wandering hordes. Stockpiling spare elemental modules in field armories allows survival squads to rapidly outfit new recruits with lethal modified gear.
