Applied Botanics: Botania Mana in an AE2 Network
Applied Botanics bridges Botania's mana into Applied Energistics storage. This guide covers what it contains and the version limitation that comes with it.
Fourteen pages, one block
The mod registers 13 items and a single block across 14 pages, with 12 crafting recipes and no other recipe category.
Like other bridge addons, it defines no machine and no bespoke bench. Its job is to let one mod's resource move through another mod's network, and that takes components rather than systems.
It requires Botania and Applied Energistics
Neither parent is optional. The items handle mana storage and transfer inside an AE2 network, so without Botania there is nothing to store and without AE2 there is nowhere to put it.
This line is 1.20.1 only, and the reason is worth knowing
The only build is 1.5.2 on Forge for 1.20.1. There is no 1.21.1 release in this registry, and the reason is upstream: the mod depends on Botania, and Botania has no NeoForge build on 1.21.1 for it to attach to.
That is a useful thing to understand about addons generally. An addon cannot be newer than the mod it extends, so a pack planning to move to 1.21.1 needs to check the whole dependency chain rather than just the addon itself.
A small in-game guide ships with it
The mod includes a two-entry guidebook. That is short even by addon standards, which fits a mod whose entire behaviour is "mana, but in your network".
Twelve recipes, all crafting
Everything is made at an ordinary bench. There is no unlock, no tier and no processing chain — the constraint is the ingredients, which come from the two parent mods rather than from this one.
No worldgen
The mod generates no structures. Nothing is found; everything is built.
Where it fits
If you are running Botania and AE2 together, the alternative to this addon is moving mana by hand between two systems that do not know about each other. Twelve recipes is a small price for removing that. If you are running only one of the two, there is nothing here for you.
