Advanced Hooks

Hooks provide additional capabilities when attached to a fishing rod. Each hook type is crafted using an Iron Hook as a base.

Gold Hook

The Gold Hook is crafted using four gold nuggets and an Iron Hook.

Diamond Hook

To create a Diamond Hook, combine four diamonds with an Iron Hook.

Redstone Hook

A Redstone Hook is made by combining four Redstone Dust with an Iron Hook.

Note Hook

A Note Hook is crafted by combining an Iron Hook with a Note Block.

Nether Star Hook

The Nether Star Hook is a powerful hook created by combining a Diamond Hook with a nether star.

Tackle Box

The Tackle Box is a specialized storage item designed to hold fishing-related gear. It allows you to store various hooks, bait, fishing line, and bobbers. The Tackle Box also serves as a station where you can apply modifiers and customization items to your fishing rod.

To craft a Tackle Box, you will need two Green Dye, five Iron Ingots, one chest, and one iron block.

Worm Farm

The Worm Farm is a block that can be placed to provide a source of worms. While the specific function of worms is not detailed, they are typically used as bait in fishing.

To craft a Worm Farm, combine four Oak Fences, one Dirt block, and three Oak Planks.

Recycling gear you have outgrown

Old rods are not dead weight. The mod files four blasting recipes and five smelting recipes, and most of them are recovery:

A Golden Fishing Rod returns a Gold Nugget
An Iron Fishing Rod returns an Iron Nugget
A Neptunium Axe returns a Neptunium Ingot
A Tin Can returns seven Iron Nuggets

The tin can is the one worth remembering. It is junk loot that most players discard, and seven nuggets is nearly a full ingot per can — a pile of them from a long fishing session is a real iron source.

Jellyfish are a slime source

Jellyfish smelt into a Slimeball, which makes fishing a viable alternative to a swamp farm for slime. For a base without slime chunks nearby, this is the cheapest supply in the game.

Junk into bone meal

Fish Bones craft into three Bone Meal, and Brown Shrooma into five Brown Mushroom. Between the two, the by-catch that fills your inventory is worth processing rather than dropping.
