Crafting and Using Aquaculture 2 Fishing Gear
Aquaculture 2 expands the fishing system in Minecraft, offering new tools to enhance your fishing experience. This guide covers how to craft and use various fishing rods, lines, bobbers, and hooks. Any fishing rod, including vanilla or other modded rods, can be used. New fishing rods from this mod allow for equipping hooks and bait, adding more functionality. You can customize your fishing rod with unique lines and bobbers. A Tackle Box can be used to apply modifiers and customization items, and also to store additional hooks, bait, line, and bobbers.
Fishing Line
Fishing Line is a component used in fishing. To craft Fishing Line, combine four strings and one 
Iron Ingot in a crafting grid.
Bobbers
A 
Bobber is another customizable item for your fishing rod. Craft a Bobber by combining two 
Clay Ball items and one 
Nautilus Shell.
Hooks
Hooks provide additional functionality to your fishing rod. There are several types of hooks available to craft.
Iron Hook
The 
Iron Hook serves as a basic hook and is an ingredient for other hook types. To craft an Iron Hook, place four iron nuggets in a crafting grid.
Double Hook
The 
Double Hook is made by combining two Iron Hook items in a shapeless recipe.
Light Hook
To craft a 
Light Hook, combine four feathers with one Iron Hook.
Heavy Hook
The 
Heavy Hook is created by combining four iron nuggets with one Iron Hook.
Hooks are the upgrade path
The mod's gear progression runs through hooks rather than rods. The hook decides the behaviour, and the same rod carries whichever hook you fit, which is why the hook list is longer than the rod list.
An Iron Hook is also the ingredient in every fish mount — five buttons and one hook each — so hooks are worth batching even when you are not fishing.
Rods are recoverable
Nothing is wasted when you upgrade. Both blasting and smelting return the metal:

Bobbers
A Bobber is two Clay Ball around a Nautilus Shell. The nautilus shell is the limiting ingredient and comes from fishing itself, which makes bobbers a mid-session craft rather than something to prepare in advance.
Version parity
Every recipe category — 51 crafting, 5 smelting, 4 blasting, 1 campfire, 1 smoking — has identical counts on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1, so the whole gear chain behaves the same on either line.
