Overview of ArborFirmaCraft Crafting, Advanced Shaped, and Advanced Shapeless Machines
ArborFirmaCraft's crafting machines cover standard crafting, advanced shaped crafting, and advanced shapeless crafting, each with its own recipe count and output patterns. The three machines differ in scale and in what they demand of the player, from simple sugar and glue production to saw-based lumber and support conversion.
The Crafting Machine
The Crafting machine holds 614 recipes, making it the largest of the three by a wide margin. Its recipes include conversions that take no listed input and produce sugar, such as Birch Sugar x10, 
Birch Sugar, Maple Sugar x10, and 
Maple Sugar. It also produces glue x4.
A major part of the Crafting machine's recipe list is axle production. Each axle recipe consumes two stripped logs of a given wood type plus glue, and returns four axles of that same wood. The woods covered in the examples include araucaria, baobab, beech, cypress, eucalyptus, fig, ginkgo, hevea, ipe, ironwood, mahoe, mahogany, teak, and tualang.
The Crafting machine also handles barrel production. A barrel recipe takes seven lumber of a wood type and returns one barrel of that wood. Examples include araucaria, baobab, beech, cypress, and eucalyptus barrels.
Advanced Shaped Crafting
The Advanced Shaped Crafting machine has 21 recipes. Its recipes pair a log with a 
metal/saw/bismuth_bronze and output eight supports of a wood type. The saw is a required part of every listed recipe.
The log-to-support mapping is not always one-to-one. Several logs convert into a support of a different wood name:
- gum_arabic log becomes acacia support.
- kauri log becomes araucaria support.
- poplar log becomes aspen support.
- redcedar log becomes cypress support.
- rainbow_eucalyptus log becomes eucalyptus support.
- rubber_fig log becomes fig support.
- black_oak log becomes oak support.
Other logs map to a support of the same name, including araucaria, baobab, beech, cypress, eucalyptus, fig, ginkgo, hevea, ipe, ironwood, mahoe, mahogany, teak, and tualang. Every one of these recipes yields eight supports.
Advanced Shapeless Crafting
The Advanced Shapeless Crafting machine has 63 recipes. Like the advanced shaped machine, it relies on metal/saw/bismuth_bronze, but here the saw is combined with a wood input to produce lumber rather than supports.
Logs are the richest source, returning eight lumber each. The same cross-mapping seen in supports applies: gum_arabic log gives acacia lumber, kauri log gives araucaria lumber, poplar log gives aspen lumber, and so on for the other renamed woods. Logs that keep their name, such as baobab and beech, also return eight lumber.
Planks are a lesser source. A single plank of a wood type returns four lumber of that type, as with araucaria and baobab planks.
Slabs and stairs are the smallest sources. A slab returns two lumber, and a stair returns three lumber. Examples include araucaria_slab giving araucaria lumber x2 and araucaria_stairs giving araucaria lumber x3, with the same pattern for baobab slabs and stairs.
Choosing Between the Machines
Use the Crafting machine for sugar, glue, axles, and barrels. Use Advanced Shaped Crafting when you need supports and have logs plus a bismuth bronze saw. Use Advanced Shapeless Crafting when you need lumber, whether from logs, planks, slabs, or stairs, and remember that logs give the largest return while slabs give the smallest.
