Water Wheels, Encased Axles, and Clutches for Rotational Power Networks
Wooden water wheels, encased axles, and clutches form the core of a rotational power network in ArborFirmaCraft. Each of these components is crafted from a single wood type, and the recipes below cover eucalyptus and ironwood. Because every part of a network can be made from the same wood, you can keep a consistent material theme across a build.
Water Wheels
A water wheel is the part of the network that produces rotational power. To craft one, you arrange four pieces of lumber of your chosen wood, four planks of the same wood, and one axle of that wood in a shaped recipe. The output is a water wheel of that wood type.
- Eucalyptus water wheel: four eucalyptus lumber, four eucalyptus planks, one eucalyptus axle.
- Ironwood water wheel: four ironwood lumber, four ironwood planks, one ironwood axle.
The axle is a required ingredient in every water wheel recipe, so plan to make axles before you assemble wheels.
Encased Axles
An encased axle is built from stripped logs, lumber, and an axle of the same wood. The shaped recipe takes two stripped logs, two lumber, and one axle, all of the matching wood type.
- Eucalyptus encased axle: two eucalyptus stripped logs, two eucalyptus lumber, one eucalyptus axle.
- Ironwood encased axle: two ironwood stripped logs, two ironwood lumber, one ironwood axle.
Notice that the encased axle uses stripped logs rather than planks, which distinguishes its recipe from the water wheel's. Both recipes still depend on a plain axle as the central component.
Clutches
A clutch is the most ingredient-heavy of the three components. Its shaped recipe combines four lumber, two stripped logs, one axle, 
brass_mechanisms, and 
Redstone Dust, all tied to a single wood type for the wooden parts.
- Eucalyptus clutch: four eucalyptus lumber, two eucalyptus stripped logs, one brass_mechanisms, one eucalyptus axle, and Redstone Dust.
- Ironwood clutch: four ironwood lumber, two ironwood stripped logs, one brass_mechanisms, one ironwood axle, and Redstone Dust.
The clutch is the only one of the three components that calls for brass_mechanisms and Redstone Dust. If you are planning a network that includes clutches, gather those materials alongside your wood.
Planning a Network
When you set out to build a rotational power network, the recipes above suggest a natural build order:
- Start by producing axles of your chosen wood, since every water wheel, encased axle, and clutch requires one.
- Convert logs into lumber and planks as needed for the wheels.
- Strip logs for the encased axles and clutches.
- Reserve brass_mechanisms and Redstone Dust for clutches only.
Because eucalyptus and ironwood follow identical recipe shapes, switching between them is only a matter of substituting the wood type in each ingredient slot. A water wheel of one wood, an encased axle of the same wood, and a clutch of the same wood can all be crafted from the same gathered materials, keeping your stock simple.
Each recipe is a shaped crafting recipe, meaning the arrangement of ingredients in the grid matters. Keep the layout consistent with the recipe you are following, and confirm you are using the correct wood type in every slot before crafting.
