Crafting Dinosaur Armor Sets in Not Enough Dinosaurs
Crafting armor sets from dinosaur materials in Not Enough Dinosaurs lets you turn creature-specific resources into wearable protection. Archelon Shell Armor
Archelon Shell Armor is crafted from 
Archelon Shell Shard. Every piece uses a shaped recipe, and the shard cost scales with the size of the armor piece.

The chestplate is the most expensive piece at 8 shards, followed by the leggings at 7. The helmet sits in the middle at 5, and the boots are the cheapest at 4. A full Archelon Shell Armor set therefore consumes 24 Archelon Shell Shard in total.
Edmontonia Armor
Edmontonia Armor is crafted from 
Edmontonia Armor Plate. The recipes are shaped, just like the Archelon line, and use the same piece-by-piece cost pattern.
Edmontonia Armor Helmet — 5 Edmontonia Armor Plate
Edmontonia Armor Chestplate — 8 Edmontonia Armor Plate
The helmet requires 5 Edmontonia Armor Plate, and the chestplate requires 8. These are the two Edmontonia pieces detailed here, so plan your plate gathering around those two recipes if they are what you are aiming for.
Planning Your Crafting
Because both armor lines use shaped recipes, the arrangement of your materials in the crafting grid matters. Keep your shards or plates organized in the pattern each recipe calls for rather than dropping them in randomly.
The cost pattern across the two lines is consistent: helmets take 5 of their material, and chestplates take 8. For Archelon Shell Armor, leggings take 7 and boots take 4. If you are crafting a full Archelon set, gather at least 24 Archelon Shell Shard before you start so you are not left with an incomplete set.
For Edmontonia Armor, the helmet and chestplate together require 13 Edmontonia Armor Plate. Decide which pieces you actually need before committing materials, since the chestplate alone eats 8 plates.
