Cooking dinosaur meat in Not Enough Dinosaurs is handled through three cooking methods: Campfire Cooking, Smelting, and Smoking. Each method converts raw dinosaur drops into cooked food, and the recipes overlap heavily across all three. This guide covers what each method can produce and which recipes belong to which station.

The embryo conversions are worth noting because they are not food recipes at all. Smelting a Dilophosaurus Embryo, Dimetrodon Embryo, or Oviraptor Embryo produces the corresponding egg instead of a cooked meal.

Smoking contains 17 recipes and mirrors the Campfire Cooking list closely. Like the campfire, it converts raw dinosaur meat into cooked meat and can take Cooked Dimetrodon one step further.

Choosing a Method
For most raw dinosaur meat, all three methods produce the same result. Cooked Archelon and Cooked Dilophosaurus are both obtainable through Campfire Cooking, Smelting, and Smoking, and Cooked Dimetrodon follows the same pattern across the three stations.
The differences matter in two places. Only Smelting handles Guanlong Foot and the three embryo-to-egg conversions. And if your goal is Thoroughly Cooked Dimetrodon, you need to cook Cooked Dimetrodon a second time, which Campfire Cooking, Smelting, and Smoking can all do.
