Archon Status Effects, Harvesters and Utility Items

guide

Archon's items do specific, unusual things. This guide covers the effects they grant and the tools worth making early.

The status effects are the mod's real toolkit

  • Ragetriples the user's attack speed, from the Rage Spell
  • Shadow — grants flight, and lets the player phase through walls while sneaking
  • Sturdy — deflects most projectiles off the user, obtainable from a Terranean Axe
  • Mana Boost+50 maximum mana per level
  • Obstructed — blocks all mana use; inflicted by Mana Leeches

Shadow is the standout: flight plus wall-phasing while sneaking is a movement change, not a buff, and it reshapes how you approach every structure in the game.

Rage tripling attack speed is equally blunt. Neither of these is a percentage tweak — they are switches.

Harvesters are weapons with a purpose

Harvesters function as normal weapons but add drop bonuses, and each element of harvester yields drops related to that element. That makes the choice of harvester a farming decision rather than a combat one — you pick the element whose drops you actually want.

Two enchantments

  • Arcane — reduces weapon mana cost by 10% per level
  • Reaping — applies to weapons, axes or a Staff of Undead, and is used to obtain souls

Reaping working on three different item classes is worth noting; most enchantments in this mod and in vanilla are narrower.

Utility items that change how you mine and farm

  • Combustion Charge — mines out a 7x7 area of floor or wall and leaves the drops behind
  • Druid Boots — leather-tier boots that fertilise blocks around you while sneaking
  • Lightning in a Bottle — thrown a short distance to strike lightning where it lands, and usable on creepers
  • Ancient Scrolls — single-use items granting a specific mana enhancement

The combustion charge leaving drops is the detail that makes it a mining tool rather than a demolition one — a 7x7 face cleared with nothing lost.

Where these come from

The mod's 90 recipes split into 43 crafting, 26 scripting and 21 channeling. The scripting and channeling categories both consume mana, so nearly half of Archon's recipe list is gated behind having a mana pool at all.

Version

0.8.1 on Fabric, 1.20.1 only, with 2 structures — the Wither Tomb at spacing 32 and the Spire at 23.
