Artifacts Cooking Machines and Recipe Guide
Overview
This guide covers all cooking machines in the Artifacts mod and the recipes they can produce. Each machine handles the same single recipe, but they operate through different cooking methods. Knowing which machine to use depends on your setup and fuel availability.
The Cooking Machines
Artifacts adds three cooking machines, each based on a standard Minecraft cooking mechanic. They all convert one special food item into a more powerful version.
- Campfire Cooking – A block-based cooking method that works without fuel. Place the ingredient on an active campfire to start the process.
- Smelting – Uses a standard furnace. Requires fuel such as coal, charcoal, or wood to heat the furnace.
- Smoking – Uses a smoker. This machine cooks faster than a regular furnace but still consumes fuel.
All three machines are functionally identical in terms of what they produce. The only differences are the cooking speed and the fuel requirements. Campfire Cooking is passive and fuel-free, while Smelting and Smoking need constant fuel input.
The Recipe
There is exactly one recipe shared across all three machines. This recipe transforms
Everlasting Beef into
Eternal Steak.
Everlasting Beef – The raw ingredient. This item is the starting point for the recipe.
Eternal Steak – The finished product. This is the result of cooking Everlasting Beef through any of the three machines.
The recipe does not change between machines. Whether you use a campfire, a furnace, or a smoker, the output is always the same Eternal Steak. There are no alternate recipes, no additional ingredients, and no special conditions required beyond placing the Everlasting Beef in the correct cooking slot.
Using Each Machine
Campfire Cooking
To use this method, place an
Everlasting Beef on an active campfire. The campfire must be lit and remain lit until the cooking finishes. You do not need to add fuel, but you must ensure the campfire does not go out from rain or other extinguishing effects. Once the cooking timer completes, the Everlasting Beef becomes
Eternal Steak.
Smelting
For furnace cooking, place the
Everlasting Beef in the top slot of a furnace and add fuel to the bottom slot. The furnace will consume the fuel over time. When the progress bar fills, the output slot will contain
Eternal Steak. This method is slower than smoking but uses standard furnace mechanics.
Smoking
The smoker method works like the furnace but at a faster rate. Place
Everlasting Beef in the smoker’s input slot, add fuel, and wait. The smoker will convert the beef into
Eternal Steak more quickly than a furnace would. This is the best choice if you need the result fast and have fuel to spare.
Practical Notes
- Since all three machines share the same recipe, you can choose whichever fits your current base. If you are outdoors with no fuel, use a campfire. If you have a furnace setup, use that. If you have a smoker near a kitchen area, use that for speed.
- The
Eternal Steak is the only product from this recipe. There is no secondary output, no experience gain difference between machines, and no chance of failure. - You cannot use any other food item in these machines to produce Eternal Steak. The recipe strictly requires Everlasting Beef as the input.
- If you have multiple Everlasting Beef items, you can cook them in parallel across different machines. For example, cook one on a campfire while another smokes in a smoker.
Summary
The Artifacts mod’s cooking system is simple: one ingredient, one output, and three possible machines. Use Campfire Cooking for passive, fuel-free processing. Use Smelting for standard furnace cooking. Use Smoking for the fastest fuel-based method. In all cases, place
Everlasting Beef and retrieve
Eternal Steak when done.
