Crafting the Eternal Steak from Everlasting Beef in Artifacts
The Eternal Steak is a food item in the Artifacts mod that you create by cooking an Everlasting Beef. Unlike ordinary meat, the Eternal Steak does not get consumed when you eat it; instead, it stays in your inventory, making it a reliable and infinite food source.
What You Need
To make an Eternal Steak, you only need one ingredient:
Everlasting Beef. This is the raw version of the steak. You must have at least one piece of it in your inventory before you can start cooking.
Cooking Methods
You can cook the
Everlasting Beef into an
Eternal Steak using any of the three standard cooking devices in the game. All three methods produce the same result, so choose whichever one is most convenient for your current setup.
Campfire
Place the
Everlasting Beef on a lit campfire. Wait for the cooking process to finish. When the beef turns into an
Eternal Steak, it will pop off the campfire as a dropped item. Pick it up before it despawns.
Furnace
Put the
Everlasting Beef in the top slot of a furnace, and add fuel to the bottom slot. The furnace will smelt the beef over time. When the progress bar completes, the
Eternal Steak will appear in the output slot on the right. Move it into your inventory.
Smoker
If you have a smoker, it works the same way as a furnace but cooks food faster. Place the
Everlasting Beef in the top slot, add fuel, and wait. The smoker will turn the beef into an
Eternal Steak in the output slot.
Important Notes
- All three cooking methods—campfire, furnace, and smoker—are equally valid. There is no difference in the final product, only in speed and convenience.
- You cannot craft the
Eternal Steak in a crafting table. It must be cooked using one of the three heat sources listed above. - The
Eternal Steak is not a raw item. It is the cooked, final form of the
Everlasting Beef.
Using the Eternal Steak
Once you have your
Eternal Steak, you can eat it like any other food. The key difference is that eating it does not remove it from your inventory. You can use it over and over again without needing to craft or cook another one. This makes it a very practical item for long explorations, mining trips, or any situation where you need a steady supply of food without carrying stacks of regular meat.
Practical Tips
- If you have multiple pieces of
Everlasting Beef, you can cook them all at once. Since the
Eternal Steak never disappears, you only ever need one, but having a spare can be useful if you accidentally drop it in lava or lose it. - A campfire is the most fuel-efficient method if you are early in the game and do not have a furnace or smoker yet. Just make sure to stay nearby while the beef cooks, because the finished steak will drop on the ground.
- A smoker is the fastest option if you already have one built. It uses the same fuel as a furnace but cooks at double speed.
In summary, the process is simple: get one
Everlasting Beef, apply any heat source, and you will receive an
Eternal Steak that you can eat forever. There are no additional ingredients, no special crafting recipes, and no hidden steps. Just cook the beef, pick up the result, and enjoy an endless meal.
