BE Style Wither Guide: Double Health, Weakened State, and Explosion Options

guide

BE Style Wither is a Minecraft utility mod that changes how the wither behaves, and you control every part of it through its interface and hotkeys rather than through crafting. This guide covers the settings that affect the wither's health, its weakened state, and when it explodes.

Opening the Interface

All of the options below are toggles inside the mod's interface. Open that interface with the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu), then switch each feature on or off as you need. Nothing here is enabled by crafting an item or combining materials — the interface is the only place these settings live.

Health and Weakened State

Two settings govern the wither's survivability and its weakened phase.

enableDoubleHealth gives the wither twice its normal health. Turn this on when you want a fight that lasts longer and demands more damage output before the wither goes down.

enableMaintainWeakened State keeps the wither in its weakened state. Rather than letting it recover out of that phase on its own, this option holds it there for as long as the setting is active. Use it when you want the weakened behaviour to persist instead of cycling back to full strength.

These two work independently. You can double the health without touching the weakened state, maintain the weakened state without doubling health, or run both at once if you want a tougher fight that still stays in its weakened phase.

Explosion Options

Two settings decide when the wither detonates.

enableExplodeByHalfHealth makes the wither explode once its health drops to half. The blast triggers at that threshold rather than at the end of the fight.

enableExplodeByDie makes the wither explode when it dies. The explosion happens as part of its death instead of at a health threshold.

Because these are separate toggles, you choose which trigger applies. Enabling the half-health option means the wither goes out early, at the halfway mark. Enabling the death option means it holds together until it is killed and then blows up. If you want control over exactly when the explosion lands, pick the one that matches the moment you care about.

Additional Combat Settings

The interface also exposes several other toggles that change how the wither attacks and moves. Each one is switched on or off in the same interface.

  • enableBounceBlueWitherSkull — lets blue wither skulls bounce.
  • enableMoreInertialBlueWitherSkull — gives blue wither skulls more inertia.
  • enableShootMoreBlueWitherSkull — makes the wither shoot more blue wither skulls.
  • enableSpinAndWhiteSummon — enables the spin and white summon behaviour.
  • enableChargeAttack — enables the charge attack.

These are independent of the health, weakened state, and explosion settings, so you can combine them freely with the options above.

Practical Notes

Decide what kind of encounter you want before you start. If the goal is a longer fight, enable enableDoubleHealth. If the goal is to keep the wither locked in its weakened phase, enable enableMaintainWeakenedState. If the goal is to control when the explosion happens, choose between enableExplodeByHalfHealth and enableExplodeByDie — and remember that turning both on means both triggers are active, so the wither can explode at half health before it ever reaches death.

Every option here is a toggle. Check the interface to confirm which ones are currently on, since the state of each setting decides how the wither behaves in your session. Adjust them one at a time if you want to see how each change affects the fight, and open the interface again whenever you need to switch something off.
