Adding the Borderless Windowed Option to the Fullscreen Resolution Slider

guide

Borderless Mining lets you play in a fullscreen window that behaves like a normal window, and its main switch appears as an entry inside the Fullscreen Resolution slider. This guide explains how that entry gets added and what the related settings do.

What the Mod Does

The core behaviour is controlled by Borderless Fullscreen. Its on-screen description states that turning Fullscreen on switches the game to a borderless fullscreen window instead of the usual exclusive mode. In other words, the mod changes what happens when you enable fullscreen — you still get a fullscreen experience, but it is rendered as a borderless window.

Adding the Entry to the Slider

The Fullscreen Resolution option is the setting that puts the mod's entry into the Fullscreen Resolution slider. Its description says it adds an option to that slider which enables the mod. So the sequence is: turn on the Fullscreen Resolution option, and a Borderless Windowed entry becomes available in the Fullscreen Resolution slider. Selecting that entry is what activates the mod's borderless behaviour.

If the entry does not appear in the slider, check that the Fullscreen Resolution option is enabled first. The entry is added by that option, so it will not show up without it.

Platform Note

On macOS, the Fullscreen Resolution option is turned off by default. The reason given is that macOS already has better native fullscreen support. The same description notes that this option has no effect on other systems — meaning the macOS-specific default and behaviour do not apply elsewhere.

Custom Dimensions

Two further settings relate to sizing the borderless window:

  • Use custom dimensions — enables the use of your own size values rather than the default.
  • Use monitor-relative coordinates — its description says to use coordinates relative to the monitor rather than absolute ones. This changes how the position values are interpreted, so the window is placed based on the monitor's own frame of reference.

Operating the Interface

Everything here is handled through the mod's configuration screen, titled Borderless Mining Configuration, and through the standard Fullscreen Resolution slider. There is no crafting involved.

To set it up:

  • Open the Borderless Mining Configuration screen.
  • Turn on Borderless Fullscreen so that enabling Fullscreen produces a borderless window.
  • Turn on the Fullscreen Resolution option to add the Borderless Windowed entry to the Fullscreen Resolution slider.
  • Open the Fullscreen Resolution slider and select Borderless Windowed.
  • If you want your own size, enable Use custom dimensions.
  • If you want placement measured from the monitor rather than in absolute terms, enable Use monitor-relative coordinates.

Any hotkeys used by the mod are not fixed here; assign them yourself in the controls menu using the corresponding hotkey entry.

Quick Reference

  • Borderless Windowed — the entry added to the Fullscreen Resolution slider.
  • Borderless Fullscreen — makes Fullscreen produce a borderless window.
  • Fullscreen Resolution option — adds the mod's entry to the slider; off by default on macOS and ineffective on other systems.
  • Use custom dimensions — lets you supply your own dimensions.
  • Use monitor-relative coordinates — measures position from the monitor instead of absolutely.
  • Borderless Mining Configuration — the screen where these settings live.
