Using Special Blocks for Base and World Enhancement
This guide explains how to utilize special blocks from the Bosses of Mass Destruction mod to enhance your base and world. This mod adds epic endgame boss fights, but also provides tools to modify your environment.
Staff of Suppression
The 
Staff of Suppression is a block that prevents mob spawns. When you place a Staff of Suppression, no mobs will spawn within a 64-block radius in any direction around it. This can be useful for creating safe zones around your base or other important areas.
Blast Amplifier
The 
Blast Amplifier is a block that affects an area in a 64-block radius in any direction. This effect cannot stack, meaning placing multiple Blast Amplifier blocks close together will not increase its effect.
Table of Elevation
The 
Table of Elevation is a block that grants creative flight. Once placed, the Table of Elevation provides creative flight within a 7x7 column directly above it. This allows players to fly freely within that specific area, which can be useful for building or navigating vertical structures.
What each block actually does
The three utility blocks are the mod's non-combat payoff, and their in-game descriptions are precise about the numbers:
- Staff of Suppression — placed, it stops mobs spawning for 64 blocks in every direction. That is a very large sphere, and it is the cheapest way to secure a base perimeter in this mod.
- Table of Elevation — placed, it grants creative flight inside a 7x7 column above it. A build lift with no scaffolding.
- Blast Amplifier — the third of the set, and the effect cannot stack, so a second one placed nearby buys nothing.
That last point is worth repeating because it applies to the suppression effect too: these are area blocks, not stacking buffs. One well-placed block covers what several badly-placed ones will not.
What they cost
The whole mod runs on seven crafting recipes, and these blocks take up much of that list. The Staff of Suppression is 
Ancient Anima, an 
Obsidian Heart and 
Obsidian; the Table of Elevation adds 
Gold Ingot and a 
Blazing Eye to the same core materials; the Blast Amplifier is a ring of obsidian around a Blazing Eye and an Obsidian Heart.
Every one of those materials is a boss drop. There is no mining route to any of them, which is why the utility blocks read as trophies as much as tools.
