Defeating the Night Lich and Exploring its Tower

This guide details how to defeat the Night Lich and explore its tower for unique rewards. The Night Lich is one of several endgame bosses added by the Bosses of Mass Destruction mod.

Locating the Lich Tower

The Lich Tower is a structure that generates in cold biomes. To find a Lich Tower, follow Soul Stars. The game attempts to place one Lich Tower within every 100x100 chunk region, ensuring each tower is at least 50 chunks apart from others. Inside a Lich Tower, normal monster mob spawning is overridden.

The Night Lich Boss Fight

The Night Lich is found within its tower. Prepare for an epic endgame boss fight when engaging the Night Lich.

Rewards and Exploration

After defeating the Night Lich, you can explore its tower for unique rewards.

Resetting Boss Structures

The item Brimstone Nectar can be used to reset nearby boss structures.

The rarest structure in the mod

The Lich Tower generates at spacing 100 with a separation of 50 — by a wide margin the rarest of the mod's four structures. The Obsidilith Arena and Void Blossom sit at 64, and the Gauntlet Arena at 32.

At spacing 100 you should treat finding a tower as the trip, not as something you will pass on the way to something else. Fly, do not walk, and mark it the moment you see it.

Fighting it prepared

The mod's whole crafting list is seven recipes, and two of them are worth having before this fight:

Charged Ender Pearl — Void Thorn, an Ender Pearl and Ancient Anima. It is reusable and gives brief resistance after each teleport, which makes repositioning safe rather than risky.
Crystal Fruit, which grants short regeneration and resistance.

Resetting the tower

Brimstone Nectar — Netherite Scrap, Dragon's Breath and a Ghast Tear — resets nearby boss structures on use. Given how far apart towers generate, carrying one is far cheaper than finding a second tower.

After the fight

The lich's drops feed the mod's utility blocks, which is where the material actually goes: a Staff of Suppression stops mob spawns for 64 blocks in every direction, and a Table of Elevation grants creative flight in a 7x7 column. Neither has a stacking effect, so one of each is enough.
