Locate and Defeat the Void Blossom

guide

To find and defeat the Void Blossom, you must travel deep underground. This boss is one of four epic endgame challenges added by the Bosses of Mass Destruction mod.

Locating the Void Blossom

The Void Blossom appears in rare caves at the bottom of the world. Each 64x64 chunk region will have one attempt to place a Void Blossom structure, ensuring they are at least 24 chunks apart. This structure is identified as #bosses_of_mass_destruction:has_structure/void_blossom.

To guide your search, you can use Void Lilies. These special items point the way to the Void Blossom.

Crafting Void Lilies

Void Lilies are crafted using a shapeless recipe:

  • Lily of the Valley
  • Amethyst Shard

Preparing for the Fight

Once you are near the Void Blossom's location, you will notice a change in the environment. The Void Blossom overrides normal monster spawning within its area, meaning you will not encounter other hostile creatures there.

The Void Blossom is one of the mod's four bosses, designed to provide an exciting and challenging fight. The mod aims to enhance the vanilla experience with these powerful encounters.

Where it generates

The Void Blossom is a surface structure placed at spacing 64 with a separation of 24. That makes it as rare as the Obsidilith Arena and twice as rare as the Gauntlet Arena, though nowhere near the Lich Tower at spacing 100.

The tighter separation of 24 means two blossoms can sit closer together than two obsidilith arenas can, so a region that has one is slightly more likely to hold another.

Void thorns are the reason to come

The material this fight supplies feeds two of the mod's seven recipes:

Both are traversal tools rather than weapons, which is the mod's pattern: bosses drop mobility and utility, not damage.

Preparing and retrying

Crystal Fruit gives brief regeneration and resistance for the fight itself. Brimstone Nectar — Netherite Scrap, Dragon's Breath and a Ghast Tear — resets nearby boss structures afterwards, which at spacing 64 is worth far more than the netherite scrap it costs.
