Bountiful Fares Milling, Fermenting and the Crop List
This guide covers how Bountiful Fares processes what you grow, and which parts of that depend on the version you run.
The mill is the core
32 Milling recipes, the same on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1. In a mod of 349 pages that is a small number, but it is the step almost everything passes through — grain and produce become the ingredients the crafting list wants.
Because it is identical across builds, anything you learn about milling transfers between versions unchanged.
Fermenting is 1.21.1 only
13 recipes on the newer build, zero on the older one. If you are following a guide that mentions fermenting and you are on 1.20.1, the system simply does not exist for you — it is not a missing ingredient or an unbuilt block.
That gap is worth weighing against the loader question, because the two are linked: the newer build is NeoForge and the older is Fabric.
Crafting is where the crops become food
269 recipes on 1.21.1, 226 on 1.20.1. This is the largest category by a wide margin and covers the blocks, the tools and the assembled dishes.
Stonecutting for the block side
27 recipes on 1.21.1, 19 on 1.20.1. With 177 blocks in the mod, the cutter covers only a fraction — most blocks here are crops and functional pieces rather than a decorative palette with variants.
Heat is barely used
Five smelting recipes, three campfire and three smoking on the newer build; three, one and one on the older. Nine and five respectively. A food mod that cooks this little is telling you the interesting processing is elsewhere.
Even split of blocks and items
177 blocks against 172 items. Each crop is both — something planted and something harvested — which is why the two numbers sit so close.
No structures to find
The mod generates no worldgen structures, so there is no exploration gate. Every crop is reachable by farming once you have a seed.
