Brewin' and Chewin': Fermenting and Feasting

Brewin' and Chewin' is a Farmer's Delight addon built around a Keg, where brewing and fermenting turn simple ingredients into drinks, cheeses, and sweets, while a separate Cooking station handles full meals. There is no guidebook in the mod; advancements are the intended way to learn it. Open the advancement screen with its default key and switch to the Brewin' and Chewin' tab, marked by a beer icon, to see what each step unlocks.

Setting Up the Keg

The Keg is the centerpiece. Its recipe combines four Iron Ingot, four Oak Planks, and one Honeycomb. Everything fermented or brewed in the mod passes through it, so build this first.

Two supporting blocks round out the setup. The Heating Cask is crafted from three Oak Slab, two Block of Coal, one Blaze Powder, two Oak Planks, and one Magma Block. The Ice Crate uses four Oak Planks, one String, three Oak Slab, and one Packed Ice.

Smaller containers matter too. Five Oak Planks and two Iron Nugget produce four Tankard, and two canvas produce four Coaster.

Fermenting in the Keg

Fermenting covers 23 recipes. A basic example is Wheat plus Wheat Seeds plus Brown Mushroom, which yields Beer. Combining a tomato, a cabbage, and Sweet Berries gives a Bloody Mary. Sugar with two Cocoa Beans makes Cocoa Fudge.

Cheeses and Their Wheels

Cheese comes in two varieties, each starting as a wedge. Four Flaxen Cheese Wedge press into a Flaxen Cheese Wheel, and four Scarlet Cheese Wedge press into a Scarlet Cheese Wheel. Cutting reverses this: a Flaxen Cheese Wheel becomes Flaxen Cheese Wedge, and a Scarlet Cheese Wheel becomes Scarlet Cheese Wedge. Wedges are also a common ingredient in cooked dishes.

Cooking Full Meals

The Cooking station holds 9 recipes. Several use cheese wedges as a base:

Three Apple plus Sugar make Apple Jelly.
Three Glow Berries plus Sugar make Glow Berry Marmalade.
Three Sweet Berries plus Sugar make Sweet Berry Jam.
A Flaxen Cheese Wedge, an onion, a vegetable, and a bread make Creamy Onion Soup.
A Flaxen Cheese Wedge, pasta, a tomato, and a safe raw fish make Pasta with Cheese.
A Flaxen Cheese Wedge, two eggs, an onion, and a carrot make Vegetable Omelet.
A Scarlet Cheese Wedge, a beetroot, tomato_sauce, pasta, and a Flaxen Cheese Wedge make Horror Lasagna.
A Scarlet Cheese Wedge, a potato, dough, Nether Wart, and a cabbage make Scarlet Pierogi.
tomato_sauce, a potato, milk, a Scarlet Cheese Wheel, ham, and a bread make Pot of Fiery Fondue.

Crafting Dishes and Slices

The Crafting station has 13 recipes, several of which assemble larger foods that are then cut into portions:

Two Bread, a smoked ham, and a Flaxen Cheese Wedge make two Ham and Cheese Sandwich.
A Flaxen Cheese Wedge, two Brown Mushroom, tomato_sauce, and three Wheat make a Pizza. Four Pizza Slice reassemble into a Pizza, and cutting a Pizza returns Pizza Slice.
Two cooked bacon, a cabbage, two milk, a Flaxen Cheese Wedge, two Egg, and a pie crust make a Quiche. Two Brown Mushroom, a cabbage leaf, two milk, a Flaxen Cheese Wedge, two Egg, and a pie crust are an alternative Quiche recipe. Four Quiche Slice reassemble into a Quiche, and cutting a Quiche returns Quiche Slice.

Emptying Drinks

Emptying covers 51 recipes, most of which return a Glass Bottle from a drink. Examples include apple_cider, black_tea, coffee, dandelion_tea, gamblers_tea, green_tea, hot_cocoa, melon_juice, purulent_tea, and rose_hip_tea, along with long and strong variants such as long_apple_cider, long_black_tea, long_coffee, long_dandelion_tea, long_gamblers_tea, long_green_tea, long_purulent_tea, long_rose_hip_tea, long_yellow_tea, strong_apple_cider, strong_black_tea, and strong_coffee. Milk and water buckets empty back into a Bucket. A Create Potion Pouring recipe also produces a Potion.
