Crafting Furniture Kits for Every Wood Type in Builder's Delight
Furniture kits are the key that unlocks furniture recipes in Builder's Delight, and each kit is tied to a specific wood type. To make furniture from a given wood, you first need to craft that wood's kit from string and matching planks.
The Basic Recipe Shape
Every furniture kit follows the same pattern: four pieces of
String combined with planks of a single wood type in a shaped crafting recipe. The planks you use determine which kit you get, so the wood type of the planks and the wood type of the kit must match. Mixing plank types in one recipe will not produce a kit.
Kits by Wood Type
Each of the following kits is crafted the same way, swapping in the correct planks:

Why the Wood Type Matters
A kit is not interchangeable with kits of other woods. The
Oak Furniture Kit is its own item, separate from the
Spruce Furniture Kit, the
Birch Furniture Kit, and so on. Because each kit is crafted from its own planks, you cannot substitute one wood's planks for another and expect the same result. If you want furniture in a particular wood, you must craft the kit for that wood.
Gathering Materials
String is the common ingredient across all six kits, so it is worth collecting in bulk before you start crafting. String comes from sources like spiders and cobwebs, and four pieces are consumed per kit. Planks are the variable ingredient, and you will need to convert logs of the appropriate wood into planks first. Because the recipe is shaped rather than shapeless, arrange the string and planks in the correct pattern in the crafting grid rather than tossing them in at random.
Planning Your Crafting
If you intend to build with several wood types, craft a separate kit for each one. A single kit only covers its own wood, so a build that mixes oak and spruce furniture will need both an
Oak Furniture Kit and a
Spruce Furniture Kit. The same applies to birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak. Decide which woods your project uses, gather string and the matching planks for each, and craft one kit per wood type.
Quick Reference
- Four
String plus matching planks equals one furniture kit. - Six wood types have kits: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak.
- Each kit unlocks furniture recipes for its own wood only.
- Kits are crafted with a shaped recipe, so placement in the grid matters.
Once you have the right kit in hand, you have what you need to move on to the furniture recipes it unlocks for that wood type.
