How to Open Camera Utils Settings and Use Its Controls
Camera Utils is operated entirely through its settings screen and hotkeys, with no crafting involved. To reach the mod's options, open the camerautils settings entry, which presents the Camera Utils Settings screen. Everything below is handled from that screen or from the controls menu, where the mod's keybinds are assigned.
Opening the Settings Screen
The mod's configuration lives behind camerautils settings. Selecting it opens Camera Utils Settings, the central place where the mod's features and settings are grouped. From there you can reach the camera presets, distance options, cinematic camera options, and zoom animation options described below.
Third Person Cameras
Camera Utils provides two custom third person cameras:
- third person cam 1 — Custom Third Person Camera 1
- third person cam 2 — Custom Third Person Camera 2
Each camera has its own dedicated settings screen: Custom Third Person Camera 1 Settings and Custom Third Person Camera 2 Settings. These are where you adjust how each preset behaves. A Third Person Camera Preset selector (labelled title) lets you choose which preset is active, and a Third Person Settings screen collects the shared third person options.
Third Person Distance
Distance for the third person view is controlled through a set of related options:
- Third Person Distance Modifier — adjusts the distance value.
- Third Person Distance Blocks — sets the distance in blocks.
- A Third Person Distance entry (labelled title) shows the distance control.
Use these together to set how far the camera sits from the player in third person.
Cinematic Camera
Cinematic camera behaviour is configured through:
- Cinematic Camera Settings — the screen holding the cinematic options.
- Cinematic Camera Modifier — adjusts the cinematic camera's effect.
- Movement Smoothness — controls how smooth movement appears.
Zoom Options
Zoom behaviour is tuned with:
- Zoom Animation Settings — the screen for zoom animation options.
- Zoom Scroll Sensitivity — how strongly scrolling affects zoom.
- Scroll Sensitivity Blocks — the scroll sensitivity expressed in blocks.
Keybinds and Hotkeys
Camera Utils is used through its interface and hotkeys. The facts here do not assign specific keys to any action, so no default key can be stated. For every action that has a hotkey — switching or activating the third person cameras, toggling the camera preset, and any other bindable action — assign it yourself: open the controls menu and set the corresponding hotkey there. Once bound, pressing that key performs the action.
The same rule applies to the camerautils settings entry: if you want a key that opens Camera Utils Settings directly, bind it in the controls menu rather than assuming a default.
Quick Reference
- Open the mod's options: select camerautils settings to reach Camera Utils Settings.
- Choose a camera preset: use the Third Person Camera Preset selector (title).
- Configure a preset: open Custom Third Person Camera 1 Settings or Custom Third Person Camera 2 Settings.
- Set camera distance: use Third Person Distance Modifier, Third Person Distance Blocks, and the Third Person Distance entry (title).
- Tune cinematic motion: use Cinematic Camera Settings, Cinematic Camera Modifier, and Movement Smoothness.
- Tune zoom: use Zoom Animation Settings, Zoom Scroll Sensitivity, and Scroll Sensitivity Blocks.
- Bind any action: set the corresponding hotkey in the controls menu.
In short, reach the mod through camerautils settings, configure each camera and its distance, cinematic, and zoom behaviour from their respective screens, and assign every hotkey yourself in the controls menu.
