Wood-Matched Workstations, Chests, and Lights in Carved Wood

guide

Wood-matched workstations, storage containers, and illumination blocks unify functional crafting spaces in Carved Wood. In standard Minecraft, utility furniture often forces uniform oak textures into dark spruce or pale birch builds. Carved Wood replaces these clashes with complete species-specific crafting tables, redstone crafters, chests, barrels, bookshelves, and lanterns for all twelve timber types.

Species-Specific Workstations and Automation

Setting up a coordinated workshop begins with timber-matched crafting benches:

  • Placing four matching planks in a 2x2 grid yields a wood-specific crafting table, such as the Acacia Crafting Table, Birch Crafting Table, or Warped Crafting Table.
  • In modern versions featuring automated crafting, species-specific tables upgrade directly into matching crafters. Surrounding any wood-specific crafting table with five Iron Ingot pieces across the top row and sides, two Redstone Dust piles in the bottom corners, and one Dropper in the bottom center outputs a matching automated crafter, such as the Acacia Crafter or Cherry Crafter.
  • Crafting lecterns uses matching lumber: placing three matching wooden slabs along the top row, one matching bookshelf in the center, and one matching slab at the bottom center creates species-specific lecterns like the Acacia Lectern or Spruce Lectern.

Harmonized Storage and Library Fixtures

Cabinetry and storage blocks maintain timber consistency across storerooms:

  • Chests: Placing eight matching planks in a hollow perimeter creates species-specific chests, such as the Acacia Chest or Crimson Chest, which connect into double chests matching their exact wood grain.
  • Barrels: Arranging six matching planks along the outer columns and two matching slabs in the top and bottom center yields wood-specific barrels like the Acacia Barrel.
  • Bookshelves: Placing six matching planks along the top and bottom rows around three Book items in the center row creates matching bookshelves, including the Acacia Bookshelf.
  • Beehives: Framing three Honeycomb items between six matching planks produces dedicated apiaries such as the Acacia Beehive.
  • Ladders: Positioning six Stick items along the outer columns with one matching plank in the center crafts three wood-specific ladders like the Acacia Ladder.
  • Log Bundles: Combining four matching logs in a 2x2 grid forms four timber bundles, such as the Acacia Log Bundle, providing decorative strapped lumber that uncrafts back into logs 1:1.

Timber-Framed Lanterns and Campfires

Illuminating interior rooms and wilderness outposts uses custom woodwork fixtures:

  • Lanterns: Framing one Shroomlight between two matching planks (top and bottom) and two Paper sheets (left and right) outputs two timber lanterns, such as the Acacia Lantern. Placing a large lantern in a crafting grid decrafts it into two standard lanterns.
  • Campfires: Arranging three sticks or wooden rods, one coal or charcoal, and three matching logs along the bottom row crafts species-specific hearths like the Acacia Campfire.
  • Soul Campfires: Replacing coal with soul soil or soul sand produces blue-flame hearths like the Soul Acacia Campfire.
