Technomancy Engineer Suit and Excelsius Upgrade Paths
The Technomancy Engineer suit is a four-piece armor set built by upgrading each piece of Wizard armor with a
Technomancy Rune and
Arcane Essence. Every piece follows the same material pattern, so once you have the reagents on hand you can convert a full set of Wizard gear in one sitting. Two crafting methods exist for each piece, giving you a choice between a shapeless recipe and a smithing transform.
Building the Engineer's Set
Each armor slot has its own dedicated upgrade. The Wizard piece you start with determines which Engineer piece you receive.
Engineer's Hood:
Wizard Helmet +
Technomancy Rune +
Arcane Essence
Engineer's Suit:
Wizard Robes +
Technomancy Rune +
Arcane Essence
Engineer's Pants:
Wizard Leggings +
Technomancy Rune +
Arcane Essence
Engineer's Boots:
Wizard Boots +
Technomancy Rune +
Arcane Essence
Every one of these conversions can be performed two ways. The first is a shapeless crafting recipe that combines the Wizard armor piece, the
Technomancy Rune, and the
Arcane Essence in any arrangement. The second is a smithing transform that takes the same three inputs — the
Technomancy Rune, the matching Wizard armor piece, and the
Arcane Essence — and produces the Engineer equivalent. Both routes yield the same result, so use whichever station you already have available.
Because the pattern is identical across all four slots, you never need to memorize separate recipes. Identify the Wizard piece for the slot you want to upgrade, pair it with one
Technomancy Rune and one
Arcane Essence, and craft or smith the result.
Excelsius Upgrade Paths
Two pieces of the Engineer's set can be pushed further into Excelsius Adversary armor. These upgrades are not available for the pants or boots — only the chest and head slots have an Excelsius form.
Excelsius Adversary Chestplate:
Witherite Ingot +
Engineer's Suit +
Mana Upgrade Orb
Excelsius Adversary Visor:
Witherite Ingot +
Engineer's Hood +
Mana Upgrade Orb
Unlike the Engineer conversions, the Excelsius upgrades are performed only through a smithing transform. Each one consumes a
Witherite Ingot, the corresponding Engineer piece, and a
Mana Upgrade Orb. The
Engineer's Suit becomes the
Excelsius Adversary Chestplate, and the
Engineer's Hood becomes the
Excelsius Adversary Visor.
Note that the Excelsius step requires the Engineer piece as its base rather than the original Wizard armor. You cannot skip straight from Wizard gear to Excelsius equipment; the Engineer stage is a required intermediate. Plan your materials accordingly, since reaching an Excelsius piece means spending the
Technomancy Rune and
Arcane Essence for the Engineer conversion first, then adding a
Witherite Ingot and a
Mana Upgrade Orb on top.
Planning Your Materials
If your goal is a full Engineer's set, gather four
Technomancy Runes, four
Arcane Essences, and the complete set of Wizard armor —
Wizard Helmet,
Wizard Robes,
Wizard Leggings, and
Wizard Boots. Convert each piece using either the shapeless recipe or the smithing transform.
If you intend to go further and craft Excelsius Adversary gear, add one
Witherite Ingot and one
Mana Upgrade Orb for each Excelsius piece you want. Only the chest and head slots have Excelsius versions, so a full Excelsius upgrade covers two pieces at most. The
Engineer's Pants and
Engineer's Boots remain at the Engineer tier, since no Excelsius recipe exists for them.
Work through the tiers in order: Wizard armor to Engineer gear, then Engineer gear to Excelsius where a recipe is available. Keeping the intermediate Engineer pieces rather than discarding them matters, because the smithing transform for each Excelsius item consumes the Engineer piece directly.
