CBC Compact Mount: A Create Big Cannons Addon

guide

CBC: Compact Mount adds a smaller cannon mount for Create Big Cannons. This guide covers what it needs and what it registers.

One block, one recipe

1 page, 1 block, no items, 1 crafting recipe, identical on both builds and generating no worldgen.

The registry is a single entry, which is normal for an addon that adds one piece of equipment to an existing system.

Create Big Cannons is required

The name is the dependency. This mod extends Create Big Cannons, which this wiki also covers, and the mount has nothing to attach to without it.

Since the recipe is registered as ordinary crafting rather than under a Create category, it will appear in a recipe lookup even without the parent mod — but the block itself will have no cannon to carry.

Why a compact mount matters

Cannon mounts in Create Big Cannons determine how a cannon aims and how much space the assembly needs. A compact version trades capability for footprint, which matters on vehicles and in confined builds where a full mount does not fit.

That is a design constraint rather than a power one, and it is why an addon like this exists as a single block rather than a tier.

Version numbering

1.2.2 on NeoForge (1.21.1) and 1.1.0 on Forge (1.20.1). The newer Minecraft line carries the later patch, which is the usual arrangement, and both register the same single recipe.

No structures

Nothing generates in the world. The mount is built, placed and used as part of a cannon assembly.

Where to start

Have Create Big Cannons working first. There is no order to learn within this mod — one recipe, one block — so all of the learning curve belongs to the parent mod.

Judging an addon by page count

One page is the correct registry measure and a poor measure of usefulness. What this mod does is remove a spatial constraint in another mod's system, which cannot be counted in items.

Check the parent mod's version first

Addons that attach to another mod's assembly system are more sensitive to version drift than ones that only add recipes. Create Big Cannons is covered on this wiki at 5.11.7 (1.21.1) and 5.11.4 (1.20.1); confirm your pack's pin lines up before assuming a mount will attach.

Scale

1 page, 1 block, 0 items, 0 structures, 1 crafting recipe. Versions 1.2.2 (NeoForge, 1.21.1) and 1.1.0 (Forge, 1.20.1).

What it does not do

It adds no cannon, no ammunition and no new firing behaviour. Everything about how the cannon works comes from the parent mod — this changes only what carries it.
