The Compact Cannon Mount is a crafting-only addition to Create Big Cannons that condenses the mod's cannon mounting hardware into a single, space-efficient component. It exists for builders who want cannon functionality without dedicating a large footprint to the mount itself.
What the Compact Cannon Mount Is
Create Big Cannons gives players the tools to build and fire heavy artillery. The Compact Cannon Mount serves that same role as a cannon mount, but in a smaller package. Rather than spreading the mounting hardware across a wide area, it packs the essential parts into one block. That makes it useful in tight builds, on vehicles, or anywhere a full-sized mount would be awkward to fit.
It is a single block with a single purpose, and it is obtained through crafting rather than through world generation or loot.
Crafting the Compact Cannon Mount
The Compact Cannon Mount is made with a shaped crafting recipe. The ingredients are:
Gunpowder x4- Iron Sheet x2
Shaft x2- Andesite Casing
Arrange these in the crafting grid according to the shaped pattern and the output is one Compact Cannon Mount.
The recipe is the only one that produces the Compact Cannon Mount, so there is no alternative route to obtaining it. Every part of the recipe comes from standard Create and Create Big Cannons production lines, which means setting up the supply chain is the main task before crafting.
Gathering the Ingredients
Gunpowder is the most plentiful ingredient by count, at four per craft. It comes from the usual sources, so a mob farm or a creeper-based setup will keep you supplied. Because each Compact Cannon Mount consumes four Gunpowder, producing mounts in bulk means producing Gunpowder in bulk as well.
Iron Sheet x2 is the metal component. Create's mechanical presses turn iron into sheets, so a press line feeding off your iron supply covers this. Two Iron Sheet per mount adds up quickly if you are building several.
Shaft x2 provides the rotating mechanical element. Shaft is one of the most basic Create components, made from logs and used throughout the mod's kinetic systems. Two per craft is a modest cost.
Andesite Casing is the structural shell of the recipe. It is a standard Create casing, crafted from andesite-based materials, and it appears once per Compact Cannon Mount. Since it is a single unit per craft, it is rarely the bottleneck.
Building with the Compact Cannon Mount
The value of the Compact Cannon Mount is its size. A standard cannon mount takes up room that not every build can spare. The Compact Cannon Mount reduces that demand, letting you place artillery in locations where a larger mount would not fit or would look out of place.
