Firing Architectural Tiles with the Brick Kiln in ChangShengJue
The Brick Kiln serves as the primary stone-baking station for ancient Chinese architecture in ChangShengJue. Building traditional pavilions, temple rooftops, and courtyard walls requires specialized masonry components that standard vanilla stonecutters and blast furnaces cannot produce.
Constructing the Brick Kiln
Constructing a
Brick Kiln requires only simple earthen materials available early in survival play. In a crafting table, arranging 8 dirt blocks in a ring around an empty center slot produces one
Brick Kiln block.
Placing the kiln establishes an interactive firing station. Unlike fuel-hungry vanilla smelting furnaces that burn coal per individual recipe, the kiln interfaces directly with raw clays, stone blocks, and mineral pigments stored in the player's inventory.
Kiln Interface and Batch Operations
Interacting with the kiln opens a specialized architectural workstation interface organized into five primary tabs:
- Color: Filters decorative glazed tiles by traditional ceramic glaze pigments, including Black, Blue, Cyan, Gold, Gray, Purple, and Red.
- Stone: Contains structural masonry components, floor slabs, and shaped foundation stones.
- Tile: Houses roof components, eaves tiles, ridges, and ornamental roof charms.
- Misc: Provides specialized ceramic vessels, planters, and architectural trim.
- All: Displays every recipe accessible through the kiln.
The kiln features an integrated batch firing control. Clicking the quantity icon next to the production counter allows players to adjust the output batch size up to 64 items per firing cycle. Upon selecting an item, the required ingredients are automatically deducted from the player's backpack.
Firing Traditional Masonry and Glazed Tiles
The kiln processes raw earth minerals into refined construction materials:
- Firing one
Kaolin Ball with one black dye yields 2
Black Aligned Eaves Tile, essential for finishing sloping courtyard roofs. - Firing one
Kaolin Ball with black dye also creates the
Black Chiwen, an ornate roof dragon talisman placed at the ends of rooftop ridges. - Baking one
Syderolife Ball in the kiln fires one
Black Bricks block, forming dense foundational masonry. - Combining one
White Bricks block with one natural asphalt produces 2
Bitumen Floor Tiles for smooth paved courtyards. - Baking one raw stone block produces one
Stone Bench, providing functional stone seating for gardens and pavilions.
