Traditional Carpentry and Architectural Components with the Woodworking Bench

guide

The Woodworking Bench serves as the master carpentry hub for fabricating traditional Chinese architectural woodwork, balustrades, bracket systems, and imperial courtyard furniture in ChangShengJue. It streamlines complex timber fabrication into an intuitive workstation interface.

Crafting the Woodworking Bench

Building the carpentry bench requires combining iron hardware with structural timber. In a crafting table, arrange the following layout:

  • Top row: one iron ingot, one wooden plank, one iron ingot.
  • Middle row: one wooden plank, an empty center slot, one wooden plank.
  • Bottom row: three wooden planks.

This recipe yields one Wood Working Bench block. Placing the bench establishes a dedicated timber joinery station for constructing complex Asian architectural estates.

Operating Carpentry Categories and Batch Controls

Right-clicking the woodworking bench opens an interface organized into four specialized carpentry categories:

  • Decor: Decorative panels, carved wall screens, hanging lanterns, and display grids.
  • Major: Heavy architectural framing, structural pillars, roof beams, and interlocking dougong bracket systems.
  • Furniture: Functional interior items including wooden benches, desks, tea tables, cabinets, and folding screens.
  • Minor: Delicate joinery components, window frames, balustrade railings, and eaves trim.
  • All: Displays every accessible woodworking blueprint.

The woodworking bench includes an integrated batch slider capable of producing up to 64 items simultaneously. Selecting a blueprint deducts the necessary timber directly from the player's backpack.

Fabricating Traditional Architectural Components

The bench supports all vanilla wood varieties as well as regional hardwoods such as Zitan and Huanghuali:

  • Combining one Acacia Planks with one stick produces three Acacia Balustrades, forming elegant perimeter railings along verandahs.
  • Processing one Stripped Acacia Log carves one Acacia Bawangquan, a curved structural brace used in timber architecture.
  • Combining one Acacia Planks with one stick crafts one Acacia Bench, providing comfortable courtyard seating.
  • Processing one Acacia Planks block shapes one Acacia Book Grid, an open shelving unit for traditional scrolls.
  • Carving one Stripped Acacia Log crafts an Acacia Bracket System, representing the classic dougong bracket that transfers roof loads down to support pillars.
  • Combining one Acacia Planks with one stick shapes an Acacia Teapoy, a classic tea side table.
  • Carpenters can craft ornate room dividers, lattice windows, and display stands to decorate scholarly residences with authentic classical charm.
