Chat Log

feature

Overview

The Chat Log feature in Chat Patches saves your chat history so it can be restored in later game sessions, with options controlling how many messages are kept and how long the mod waits before saving to disk. It also preserves unsent messages when chat closes unexpectedly, letting you send them the next time you open chat. A context menu on right-clicking messages allows actions like copying or replying, though these actions cannot be undone.

Controls

  • Should text appear stating a more detailed time description when you hover over the timestamp text in chat?
  • Press to clear the chat log. Note that this does not clear the chat itself, only the log. This cannot be undone!
  • Press to clear only the chat log's sent messages. Note that this does not clear the chat itself, only the log. This cannot be undone!
  • Press to clear only the chat log's regular messages. Note that this does not clear the chat itself, only the log. This cannot be undone!
  • Press to load the chat log into the chat. (Warning: this does NOT clear the chat beforehand, all messages will be appended to the end!)
  • Press to save the chat log to disk. This will overwrite any data currently stored in the file.
  • Press to open <minecraft directory>/logs/, the folder where the chat log and any backups of it are stored.
