Client Tweaks Guide: Hitboxes, Creative Breaking, Search Behavior, and Item Lists
Client Tweaks is a Minecraft utility mod configured entirely through its interface and hotkeys, and this guide covers its building hitbox helpers, creative breaking aids, recipe book and creative menu search behavior, and the item lists that feed several offhand tweaks.
Pane and Chain Building Hitboxes
Two options make thin decorative blocks easier to target while you are placing them.
- Pane Building Support enlarges the target area of iron fences and glass panes during placement, so your aim does not need to be precise.
- Chain Building Support does the same thing for chains, giving them a larger target area while you are placing them.
Both are toggles you switch on when you want the extra forgiveness, and off when you prefer the normal target area.
Creative Breaking Support
Creative Breaking Support increases the target area of blocks that sit at random offsets when you are in creative mode. The practical effect is that you can break those awkwardly positioned blocks quickly instead of hunting for the exact spot.
Recipe Book and Creative Menu Search
Several options change how search text behaves in the recipe book and the creative menu.
- No Recipe Book Shifting stops the recipe book from moving your inventory around when it opens. The tooltip notes it works best with smaller GUI scales or larger resolutions.
- Clear Recipe Book Search makes a right click on the recipe book search bar wipe the text you typed.
- Retain Recipe Book Search keeps your recipe book search text in place when you reopen the recipe book.
- Clear Creative Menu Search makes a right click on the creative menu search bar empty it.
- Retain Creative Menu Search keeps your creative menu search text when you reopen the creative menu search tab.
- Navigate to Ghost Ingredients lets you click ghost ingredients shown in the crafting grid and jump to that item in the recipe book.
Item List Customization
Some of the offhand-related tweaks rely on item lists you can customize, so the mod knows what counts as what.
- One list defines which items count as torches for the offhand-torch options.
- One list defines which items may place torches from the offhand when Offhand Torch With Tool Only is active.
- One list defines extra items that count as weapons for the offhand shield-hiding options.
- One list defines extra items that count as shields for those same options.
- One list defines extra items that count as fireworks for the offhand firework options.
- One list defines blocks that Prevent Accidental Mining should protect.
- One list defines extra items that count as food for the offhand torch and offhand use options.
Operating These Features
Every option above is a toggle or a list you manage through the mod's interface. Where an option has an associated key binding, that binding is optional and you assign it yourself in the controls menu; the mod does not ship a fixed key for it. To use a feature, turn its toggle on, and turn it off when you no longer want the behavior. For the list-based settings, add or remove entries so the relevant tweak recognizes exactly the items you intend.
