The Decorated Elytra Smithing Template in Clutter enables players to customize functional gliding wings into vibrant butterfly patterns and gemstone-encrusted aerial flight gear. Through the vanilla smithing table, standard elytra gain distinct colorations and mineral designs without losing their flying capabilities or magical enchantments.

Smithing Mechanics for Wings

Upgrading standard elytra requires three distinct components placed in the smithing table interface:

The leftmost template slot receives one Decorated Elytra Smithing Template.
The center equipment slot holds one pair of standard Elytra or any existing butterfly elytra being recolored.
The rightmost modification slot receives the designated dye or mineral material.

Executing the smithing transform modifies the appearance of the wings while preserving any pre-existing enchantments like Unbreaking or Mending intact.

Dyeing Butterfly Wing Patterns

Players can craft full spectrums of colored wings by combining the template with ordinary dyes:
