The Peat Block in Cobblemon is a swamp-derived evolutionary block crafted from mud, dirt, moss, and clay that enables Ursaring to evolve into Ursaluna during a full moon.

Crafting the Peat Block

Assembling a Peat Block requires four distinct earthy materials combined on any crafting table:

  • 1 Mud
  • 1 Dirt
  • 1 Moss Block
  • 1 Clay

This recipe is completely shapeless. Place the four ingredients into any arrangement inside a crafting grid:

  • Combine Mud (created by using a water bottle on dirt), standard Dirt, a Moss Block (harvested from lush caves), and a Clay block (gathered from rivers and shallow lakes).
  • The crafting output produces one Peat Block.

Because all four ingredients are common natural materials, players can assemble peat blocks early in their survival playthrough without needing Nether or End resources.

Evolving Ursaring into Ursaluna

In the Hisui region lore adapted into Cobblemon, Ursaring requires a dense peat deposit under specific celestial conditions to undergo evolution:

  • Wait for a clear night when the moon reaches its full moon phase. You can track moon phases by observing the night sky in Minecraft across its eight-night lunar cycle.
  • Have an Ursaring in your party. Ursaring evolves from Teddiursa starting at level 30.
  • Place the Peat Block on the ground and interact with Ursaring, or use the peat block item directly on Ursaring during the full moon hours.
  • The evolution prompt will trigger, transforming Ursaring into the Ground/Normal-type apex Pokémon, Ursaluna.

Ursaluna gains massive base attack and physical defense alongside powerful Ground-type moves like Headlong Rush and Earthquake. It also retains excellent bulk, making it a formidable tank in competitive battles.

Peat Block Decorative Properties and Farming

Beyond its evolutionary utility, the Peat Block serves as a natural landscape material:

  • It features a rich, dark-brown organic soil texture suitable for swamp gardens, bog trails, and natural greenhouse builds.
  • It can be mined with any shovel and retains standard earthen block hardness.
  • Storing spare peat blocks near your Pokémon pasture ensures you always have the necessary evolution reagent ready when a full moon appears.
  • Farmers can integrate peat blocks into rustic terrain surrounding their home bases to give damp agricultural zones an authentic muddy appearance.
