Crafting Industrial Cage Lamps in Create Deco

guide

Industrial cage lamps in Create Deco provide rugged, directional illumination across four distinct colors and six architectural metal finishes. Designed to integrate seamlessly with Create mechanical aesthetics, these fixtures offer factory-grade visual detailing for ceilings, catwalks, and automated workshops.

Crafting Geometry and Component Alignment

Every cage lamp shares a uniform three-item vertical crafting recipe on a crafting table. Aligning materials in a single column produces 1 finished lamp:

  • Top slot: 1 metal nugget (or 1 Andesite Alloy for andesite lamps)
  • Center slot: 1 light source item
  • Bottom slot: 1 matching metal plate or sheet

The top nugget forms the protective mounting loop, the center item establishes the interior illumination color, and the bottom plate constructs the reinforced base.

Selecting Colors and Illumination Sources

The internal light component dictates the color of the emitted glow:

  • Yellow cage lamps: Crafted by placing 1 standard Torch in the center slot. Emits warm vanilla-style lighting ideal for workshops.
  • Blue cage lamps: Crafted by placing 1 Soul Torch in the center slot. Emits a calm turquoise radiance suitable for cooling bays and lower decks.
  • Green cage lamps: Crafted by placing 1 Glow Berries in the center slot. Emits soft botanical luminescence for greenhouse and aquatic chambers.
  • Red cage lamps: Crafted by placing 1 Redstone Torch in the center slot. Serves as an industrial indicator lamp for machinery status.

Metal Framework Variants

Create Deco enables cage lamps across six structural alloys to match surrounding piping and machinery:

  • Andesite framework: Crafted using 1 Andesite Alloy on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Andesite Alloy Plate on the bottom, such as the Yellow Andesite Cage Lamp.
  • Brass framework: Crafted using 1 Brass Nugget on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Brass Sheet on the bottom, such as the Yellow Brass Cage Lamp.
  • Copper framework: Crafted using 1 Copper Nugget on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Copper Sheet on the bottom, such as the Yellow Copper Cage Lamp.
  • Industrial iron framework: Crafted using 1 Industrial Iron Nugget on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Industrial Iron Sheet on the bottom, such as the Yellow Industrial Iron Cage Lamp.
  • Iron framework: Crafted using 1 Iron Nugget on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Iron Sheet on the bottom, such as the Yellow Iron Cage Lamp.
  • Zinc framework: Crafted using 1 Zinc Nugget on top, the light source in the middle, and 1 Zinc Sheet on the bottom, such as the Yellow Zinc Cage Lamp.

Combining the four light sources with the six metallurgy options creates 24 distinct cage lamp variations.

Placement and Architectural Applications

Cage lamps can be placed against walls, ceilings, and floors, adapting their mounting brackets to the target surface:

  • Hanging installations: Mount lamps beneath metal catwalks or ceiling girders to create realistic factory walkways.
  • Catwalk edges: Align cage lamps beside metal railings to outline staircases and elevated maintenance platforms.
  • Indicator arrays: Group red and green cage lamps adjacent to automated train stations or threshold switches to signal active tracks and operational states.
