Building Colored Shipping Containers in Create Deco
Shipping containers in Create Deco offer large-format industrial storage facades that can be dyed in all 16 Minecraft colors. They bring authentic freight aesthetics to train depots, harbor docks, and warehouse complexes while providing modular storage integration for logistics networks.
Fabricating Shipping Containers
Creating a shipping container requires combining basic iron fabrication with woodworking. In a crafting grid, arrange 4 items in a 2x2 cluster:
- Top-left slot: 1 Dye (any chosen color)
- Top-right slot: 1
Iron Sheet - Bottom-left slot: 1
Iron Sheet - Bottom-right slot: 1
Barrel
This layout constructs 1 colored shipping container, such as a
Red Shipping Container or
Blue Shipping Container, tinted with the selected dye. Alternatively, players possessing an existing Create
Item Vault can place 1 Item Vault together with 1 Dye in any crafting grid to transform it directly into 1 colored shipping container.
To change an existing container's finish without rebuilding, placing the crafted container into a crafting grid alongside a different dye recolors the unit instantly.
The Sixteen Color Finishes
Create Deco supports the complete Minecraft dye spectrum, allowing color-coded logistics depots:
- Primary shipping line tones: Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green for standard freight lines.
- Neutral yard tones: Black, Gray, Light Gray, and White for structural foundation rows.
- Specialty logistics tones: Cyan, Orange, Purple, Magenta, Lime, Pink, Brown, and Light Blue containers for segregating specific manufactured goods or rare commodities.
Complementary Depot Materials
Large container yards benefit from pairing containers with Create Deco decorative elements:
Iron Sheet Metal: Formed by placing 4 Iron Sheets in a 2x2 pattern on a crafting table to yield 4 Iron Sheet Metal blocks. These serve as realistic container staging pads and warehouse siding.- Metal placards: Crafted from 1 Item Frame, 1 Brass Sheet, and 1 Dye to produce labeled brass placards that attach directly to container exteriors for manifest identification, including the Red Placard and Blue Placard.
- Train hulls: Fabricated using 4 metal plates surrounding 1 storage block to produce 2 train hull blocks, such as the
Iron Train Hull, or cut directly in a stonecutter. These construct heavy rail cars underneath stacked containers. - Catwalk perimeters: Surrounding container stacks with industrial iron catwalks and railings provides realistic crane operator access and maintenance staging.
