Polished Cut and Small Netherrack Brick Building Blocks in Create: Design n' Decor

guide

Create: Design n' Decor adds polished cut netherrack and small or cut netherrack brick building blocks that expand the decoration options available alongside Create. These blocks cover the familiar building shapes — full blocks, stairs, slabs, and walls — and every one of them can be produced either through stonecutting or through crafting, so you can pick the method that suits the materials you have on hand.

What These Blocks Are

Create: Design n' Decor is a Create addon focused on quality-of-life decoration features, expanding on Create's base decoration ability while responding to community feedback. It includes variants of normal blocks, such as new crushing wheels, containers, and extra blocks chosen to fit in with Create.

The netherrack family covered here follows that same idea: rather than a single plain block, you get a set of related shapes and brick patterns that share a consistent look.

Stonecutting the Whole Family

Cut Netherrack is the starting point for stonecutting every block in this guide. Each of the six blocks can be cut directly from Cut Netherrack, which means a single input block type feeds the entire set.

If you are producing several shapes at once, stonecutting lets you go straight from Cut Netherrack to whichever shape you need, without crafting intermediate blocks first.

Crafting the Polished Cut Set

The polished cut blocks also have crafting recipes. The full block, stairs, and wall are made with shaped recipes, while the slab is made with a shaped recipe as well.

Note the two-way relationship between the full block and the slab: three Polished Cut Netherrack craft one Polished Cut Netherrack Slab, and two Polished Cut Netherrack Slab craft one Polished Cut Netherrack back. That makes it easy to convert between the two as your build requires.

Crafting the Brick Blocks

The two brick blocks use shapeless recipes that consume their slab counterparts, mirroring the polished cut full block recipe.

Choosing a Method

Stonecutting reaches every block in this guide from Cut Netherrack alone, so it is the most direct route when you already have Cut Netherrack on hand. Crafting is useful when you have the intermediate blocks — Polished Cut Netherrack, its slab, or the brick slabs — and want to turn them into another shape. Both routes produce the same blocks, so the choice comes down to which materials you are holding.
