Basin Compacting Mechanics and Fluid Pressing Recipes
guide
Compacting in Create Ultimate Factory uses a Mechanical Press positioned above a Basin to compress solid ingredients and fluid droplets into dense mineral blocks.
Basin Compacting Mechanics and Setup
Executing compacting recipes requires assembling a standard two-block kinetic pressing workstation:
- Place a Create Basin on the floor or atop a depot block.
- Mount a Mechanical Press exactly two blocks directly above the basin, facing downward.
- Supply rotational power to the press using shafts, cogs, or belt drives.
- The press automatically detects when valid recipe ingredients are present in the basin, descending to compress them into the finished product.
Unlike manual crafting, compacting can incorporate measured fluid volumes alongside solid items.
Core Compacting Recipes in Ultimate Factory
Create Ultimate Factory features several signature compacting recipes:
- Asurine Synthesis: Compact 1
Zinc Nugget, 1
Gravel, and 100mb of Water to produce decorative blue
Asurine stone blocks. - Blaze Rod Formation: Compress loose
Blaze Powder under the press to reform intact
Blaze Rods, bypassing the need for nether fortress mob hunting. - Calcite Fabrication: Combine 1
Gravel and 1
Bone Meal under the press to forge natural white
Calcite blocks.
Supplying the required 100mb of water is achieved by piping water directly into the basin using a mechanical pump.
Automated Inflow and Outflow Systems
To run compacting stations continuously without manual player intervention:
- Attach a Brass Funnel to the side of the basin configured to extract only the finished block (such as Asurine or Calcite).
- Use a top-mounted chute or mechanical arm to feed solid ingredients like gravel and bone meal into the basin.
- Connect a fluid pipe to the basin's fluid port to replenish consumed water after each pressing stroke.
- Ensure the mechanical press runs at sufficient RPM to keep pace with incoming raw material deliveries.
Fluid Management and Compacting Safety
Managing fluid delivery to pressing basins requires steady pumping infrastructure:
- Connect mechanical pumps to infinite water sources to supply the 100mb water requirement for Asurine production without pauses.
- Use fluid tanks as buffer reservoirs to prevent fluid pressure drops during simultaneous multi-basin pressing cycles.
- Monitor basin inputs with brass funnels to ensure precise item ratios accumulate before the mechanical press descends.
- Enclosing compacting bays prevents stray items from contaminating sensitive fluid basins.
