Automating Common and Renewable Resources
This guide explains how to automate the production of common and renewable resources using Create: Ultimate Factory. This mod introduces new automation possibilities, making many Minecraft resources renewable, including rare items.
Compacting Recipes
Compacting covers 9 recipes here. These recipes convert various materials into new resources, often requiring liquids like water or lava.
- Combine 4
Zinc Nugget and 2
Gravel with 100 millibuckets of minecraft:water to produce 2
Asurine. - Process 6
Blaze Powder to create a
Blaze Rod. - Mix
Gravel with 3
Bone Meal to yield
Calcite. - Use 5
Iron Nugget and 2
Gravel with 100 mb of Lava to get 2
Crimsite. - Combine
Stone with 50 millibuckets of minecraft:lava to form
Deepslate. - Transform 9
Block of Coal with 100 millibuckets of minecraft:lava into a
Diamond. - Produce 2
Ochrum by combining 2
Gold Nugget and 2
Gravel with 100 millibuckets of minecraft:lava. - Convert 9
Cobblestone with 50 millibuckets of minecraft:lava into
Tuff. - Create 2
Veridium using 7
Copper Nugget and 2
Gravel with 100 millibuckets of minecraft:lava.
Splashing Recipes
Splashing has 3 recipes, which typically involve a single ingredient being processed to create a new item.
- Splash
Packed Ice to produce
Blue Ice. - Splash
Magma Cream to obtain a
Slimeball. - Splash
Terracotta to yield
Terracotta.
What this addon actually changes
Create: Ultimate Factory does not add machines of its own. It adds recipes to the machines Create already gives you — compacting, crushing, mixing, splashing and haunting — which is why every process here runs on a Mechanical Press, a Crushing Wheel, a Basin, a Spout or a Soul Fire and needs no new infrastructure.
The practical consequence is that automating these recipes is the same problem as automating any Create line. If you already have a crushing setup feeding a basin, you have most of what these recipes need.
Building a renewable loop
The recipes worth automating first are the ones that close a loop: an input you can farm producing an output you would otherwise mine. Set those up as continuous lines with a belt in and a chest out, and let them run in the background rather than batching them by hand.
Splashing in particular rewards automation, because a Spout over a moving belt processes items continuously with no per-item interaction at all. Compacting is the opposite — it wants a basin and a press, and it is worth grouping several compacting recipes around one press rather than duplicating the machine.
Throughput before variety
The common mistake with an addon like this is building one line per recipe. Because everything shares Create's machines, a single well-fed crushing or compacting station switched between recipes usually outperforms three half-supplied ones, and it costs a fraction of the brass.
