Constructing and Activating Your Nuclear Reactor
This guide explains how to construct and activate your nuclear reactor. An optimized reactor can produce over eight million SU.
Reactor Components
To begin, you will need to craft several key components:
Reactor Casing: Combine 
Brass Casing with a 
Steel Ingot manually.
Reactor Controller: This block handles all calculations for power generation. Craft it using Reactor Casing, a 
Netherite Ingot, a 
Smart Observer, an 
Electron Tube, an 
Item Vault, and a 
Nether Star via mechanical crafting.
Reactor Cooler: Craft this using Reactor Casing, 
Reinforced Glass, 
Blue Ice, and a Steel Ingot via mechanical crafting.
Reactor Core: Craft this using a 
Uranium Bucket, Reactor Casing, a 
Precision Mechanism, and a Steel Ingot via mechanical crafting.
Reactor Construction
A nuclear reactor is built across multiple floors:
- Floor 1: This floor contains the
Reactor Output block, which provides the energy generated by the reactor. - Floor 2
- Floor 3
- Floor 4: This floor includes the
Reactor Input block, which stores uranium and 
graphite rods needed for reactor operation. It also houses the Reactor Controller, an essential block for managing power generation calculations. - Floor 5
- Floor 6
- Floor 7
Controller Activation
To activate the reactor controller, you will need a 
Reactor Blueprint. This is a crucial element that allows you to configure the reactor based on specific models.
The parts list, and how each is made
Reactor components are assembled through Create's manual item application and mechanical crafting rather than in a workbench:
- Reactor Casing — a Brass Casing with a Steel Ingot applied
- Reactor Input — a casing with a
Hopper - Reactor Output — a casing with a
Shaft 
Reactor Frame — Uranium Bucket, casing, Reinforced Glass, Steel Ingot- Reactor Core — Uranium Bucket, casing, Precision Mechanism, Steel Ingot
- Reactor Cooler — casing, Reinforced Glass, Blue Ice, Steel Ingot
- Reactor Controller — casing, Netherite Ingot, Smart Observer, Electron Tube, Item Vault and a Nether Star
The controller's nether star means a Wither fight stands between you and a working reactor.
Configuring the layout
The Reactor Blueprint is what defines the internal pattern. Right-click to fill it, and it takes graphite and uranium rods — the same two items the reactor itself runs on.
Both rod types are described identically in game as a stick to be used in the reactor input to operate it, so the blueprint is where the distinction between fuel and moderator is actually expressed.
Version warning
The two builds diverge sharply: crafting is 104 recipes on 1.21.1 against 63 on 1.20.1, and smithing transform is 64 on 1.20.1 and zero on 1.21.1. Deploying and snow powder recipes exist only on 1.20.1; splashing carries one recipe on both.
