Desert Village Variants, Including Oasis, in ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village

ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village (CTOV) enhances existing villages and introduces new variants, including those found in desert biomes. This guide details the different desert village types available.

Desert Village Types

CTOV generates various village structures that are specifically designed for their biome. For desert biomes, there are three distinct size categories for standard desert villages, plus a unique Oasis variant. All desert villages, including the Oasis type, appear in biomes tagged with #minecraft:has_structure/village_desert.

Standard Desert Villages

Standard desert villages come in different sizes, allowing for varied exploration experiences within desert biomes.

• Desert Village(Large): This is the largest size of the standard desert village. It generates in biomes designated for desert villages.
• Desert Village(Medium): A mid-sized standard desert village variant. It also generates in biomes designated for desert villages.
• Desert Village(Small): The smallest size among the standard desert villages. This variant generates in biomes designated for desert villages.

Village Desert Oasis

The Village Desert Oasis is a special type of village found exclusively in desert biomes. Unlike the standard desert villages, it has a unique theme tailored to an oasis setting. This variant generates in biomes designated for desert villages, appearing alongside the other desert village sizes.

You will not find these by searching

Not one of this mod's 78 structures carries a spacing or separation value, and that is by design rather than an omission: these villages replace vanilla village generation instead of being placed on a structure grid of their own. Locate a village however you normally would and it will already be one of these.

The desert has two distinct entries

Dry biomes are unusual in the catalogue for carrying two separate builds: the standard Desert Village and a Village Desert Oasis, which is its own structure entry rather than a variant. Both also exist in (Large) form, so four different builds can appear across desert terrain.

Nothing here is craftable

The mod contains no items, no blocks and no recipes — 78 structures and nothing else. What you find inside a desert village comes from vanilla loot tables or from other mods in your pack.
