Plains Village Variants in ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village

guide

ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village (CTOV) introduces several distinct village variants that can generate in the Plains biome. These variants offer different sizes and defensive features, enhancing the diversity of structures found in your world.

Plains Village Variants

CTOV adds new villages and overhauls existing ones, with each biome generating two types of structures. In the Plains biome, you can encounter the following village types:

Plains Village

  • Plains Village (Large): This is a larger version of the standard Plains village. It generates in areas designated for #minecraft:has_structure/village_plains.
  • Plains Village (Medium): A medium-sized Plains village variant. Like its larger counterpart, it generates in locations marked for #minecraft:has_structure/village_plains.

Fortified Plains Village

These villages offer additional defenses compared to the standard Plains villages.

  • Plains Fortified Village (Large): A larger, fortified village found in the Plains biome. It generates in areas designated for #minecraft:has_structure/village_plains.
  • Plains Fortified Village (Medium): A medium-sized, fortified village in the Plains biome. This variant also generates in locations marked for #minecraft:has_structure/village_plains.

Underground Village

The mod also includes a unique village type that generates beneath the surface.

  • Village Underground: This village variant generates underground within the Plains biome. It can be found in areas designated for #minecraft:has_structure/village_plains. There are two entries for Village Underground in the facts, suggesting it might appear in different forms or sizes, though the facts do not specify further distinctions.

CTOV adds a total of 23 village variants across different biomes, with these specific options available for the Plains biome, providing varied structures tailored to the terrain and theme.

Plains is where you notice the mod

Plains produce vanilla villages more often than any other biome, which makes them the terrain where this mod's replacement of village generation is most visible. Both a standard and a (Large) entry exist for the type, so two quite different footprints can appear.

Why the catalogue lists no spacing

All 78 structures here generate without spacing or separation figures. They are not placed on their own grid — they take over vanilla village placement, so the way to find one is simply to find a village.

A catalogue, not a content mod

The mod adds no items, no blocks and no recipes. Its whole contribution is architecture: 78 builds spanning beach, desert, jungle, badlands, alpine, mushroom, Japanese, dark forest and seasonal types, each in standard and large forms.

What is inside them comes from vanilla loot tables and from the other mods in your pack, which is why the same village feels sparse in a light modlist and generous in a heavy one.
