Preparing Eggplant Dishes in Cultural Delights
This guide details various ways to prepare eggplants, from simple smoked versions to complex meals. Cultural Delights is a mod that expands food systems, including new crops and meal options.
Smoked Eggplant Varieties
Smoking is a basic preparation method for different types of eggplant. You can use a smoker to create these ingredients:
Eggplant transforms into
Smoked Eggplant.
Cut Eggplant becomes
Smoked Cut Eggplant.
White Eggplant yields
Smoked White Eggplant.
Eggplant Meals
Eggplants can be incorporated into several prepared meals.
Eggplant Burger
To make an
Eggplant Burger, combine the following ingredients in a shapeless crafting recipe:
Bread- Smoked Eggplant
Cabbage
Tomato
Poached Eggplants
Poached Eggplants are prepared using a cooking station. The ingredients needed are:
- Eggplant
Egg
Onion
Tomato Sauce
Eggplant Parmesan
For a more elaborate dish,
Eggplant Parmesan can be cooked. This recipe also uses a cooking station and requires:
- Eggplant
Raw Pasta- Tomato Sauce
Milk Bucket- Egg
- Bread
Smoking is the whole trick
Eggplant is the mod's clearest example of one ingredient with two preparations. Eggplant smoked becomes Smoked Eggplant, and Cut Eggplant smoked becomes Smoked Cut Eggplant — cutting first and smoking second gives a different item from smoking the whole vegetable.
As with everything else here, the smoker, the furnace and the campfire all accept the same inputs, so there is nothing gated behind a particular appliance.
The pot dishes in full
The larger eggplant dishes need a cooking pot and a real ingredient list:
- Poached Eggplants — Eggplant, Onion, Tomato Sauce and an egg
- Eggplant Parmesan — Eggplant, milk, an egg, Raw Pasta, Tomato Sauce and bread
Eggplant Parmesan is the most demanding recipe in the mod at six ingredients, and it pulls from three separate production lines — a farm for the eggplant and tomatoes, animals for milk and eggs, and wheat for the pasta and bread. It is worth treating as a goal rather than a staple.
Version note
The cooking pot carries six recipes on 1.21.1 against eight on 1.20.1, so two pot dishes exist only on the older line. If a recipe will not appear in your viewer, check the version before checking the ingredients.
