Custom Splash Screen Guide: Toggle Logo Blending and Visual Effects

guide

Custom Splash Screen Config is the settings screen where you adjust how the mod's splash screen looks. Everything here is handled through the interface and hotkeys rather than crafting, so you can open the config, change a value, and see the result the next time the splash screen appears.

Opening the Config

Open the Custom Splash Screen Config screen to reach every option listed below. If a control on that screen is bound to a hotkey, use the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu) to trigger it. No default key is assumed here; assign your own binding if you want quick access.

Logo Settings

The main visual toggle on this screen is Use Blending on Logo. Blending controls how the logo's pixels mix with whatever sits behind it. Turning it on lets the logo blend into the background instead of sitting on top of it as a hard-edged image. Turning it off keeps the logo opaque and sharply separated from the backdrop.

  • Use Blending on Logo — enables or disables blending for the logo.

If you want a softer, more integrated look, enable blending. If you prefer the logo to stand out cleanly, leave it disabled. This is a simple on/off choice, so test both and keep whichever suits your splash screen.

Progress Bar Options

Several settings control the progress bar that appears during loading.

  • Progress Bar Background — toggles the background element behind the bar.
  • Progress Bar Color — sets the fill color of the bar itself.
  • Progress Bar Frame Color — sets the color of the frame around the bar.
  • Progress Bar Background Color — sets the color of the background behind the bar.
  • Custom Progress Bar Mode — switches the bar into its custom mode.

Together these let you decide whether a background is drawn at all, what color the bar's fill is, what color its frame is, and what color fills the background area. Custom Progress Bar Mode is the switch that puts these custom appearance choices into effect, so enable it when you want your own colors and layout rather than the standard look.

Spinning Circle Options

The spinning circle is another visual element you can tune.

  • Spinning Circle Size — adjusts how large the circle is.
  • Spinning Circle Speed — adjusts how fast the circle spins.
  • Spinning Circle Trail Length — adjusts how long the trail behind the circle is.

Increasing the size makes the circle more prominent. Raising the speed makes it rotate faster. Lengthening the trail makes the motion smear further behind the circle, while shortening it gives a tighter, cleaner spin. These are independent of each other, so you can combine a large, slow circle with a long trail, or a small, fast one with almost none.

Putting It Together

Work through the options in any order. Start with Use Blending on Logo if the logo's edges bother you, then move to the progress bar group to set its colors and mode, and finish with the spinning circle values to match the motion to your taste. Because these are display settings, the fastest way to judge them is to change one value, check the splash screen, and adjust again.

If a setting is controlled by a hotkey rather than a click, bind that action in the controls menu first, then use your chosen key while the relevant screen is open. Keep in mind that the config screen itself is named Custom Splash Screen Config, which is where all of the above options live.
