Delightful is an addon for Farmer's Delight that adds more foods, ingredients and recipes in the same cozy cooking style. This guide covers its additions.

New ingredients

Delightful expands the pantry with new crops and ingredients — such as the Cantaloupe, various Nut Butter made from nuts, and animal-derived items like the Animal Oil Bottle — that slot into Farmer's Delight's cooking system. These give more variety to the meals you can prepare.

Treats and drinks

The mod leans into snacks and sweets: items like the Marshmallow Stick for roasting and other treats give quick, flavorful food options. It also adds ingredients that other mods and Farmer's Delight recipes can use, extending the cooking web rather than replacing it.

Getting started

Delightful requires Farmer's Delight, so set that up first, then gather Delightful's new crops and ingredients to expand your menu. Because it uses the same Cooking Pot and Cutting Board workflow, everything you already know about Farmer's Delight applies — Delightful simply gives you more to cook with.

A third of the mod is knives for other mods

Delightful ships 69 distinct knives out of roughly 230 named things — Bronze, Invar, Electrum, Manasteel, Elementium, Certus Quartz, Fluix, Gravitite, Holystone, Knightmetal, Enderite, Allthemodium and more.

That is the mod's real shape. It is not a knife mod; it is a compatibility layer that gives every metal in your pack a Farmer's Delight knife, so whichever tech or magic mod you are running, its material has a cutting tool.

Why the recipe list looks almost empty

Only 9 recipes are registered outright — 6 for the cutting board and 3 for the cloche. Every knife recipe is conditional on the mod that supplies its metal being installed, so it does not appear until that mod does.

If you look at the mod's recipes in a fresh world with nothing else installed and conclude it barely does anything, that is why. Add a tech mod and the list fills in.

The food side

151 items against 46 blocks across 197 pages: acorns, animal fat and oil, roe, teas, baklava, and six ice creams. These are the parts that work on their own, without any other mod present.

The build is 3.8.1 for 1.20.1, with no 1.21.1 release in this line.

Where to start

Check which of your pack's metals already have a knife before crafting one — with 69 variants registered, the odds are good that the material you are already mining has one, and it will be cheaper than any of the mod's own.
