Setting a Background Image or HEX Color in Drippy Loading Screen

guide

Drippy Loading Screen lets you replace the default loading background with either a picture of your choosing or a flat HEX color, and it also gives you control over how images scale and whether universal layouts apply. Everything is handled through the mod's own customization interface rather than through crafting or commands.

Opening the Customization Interface

The entry point is the Customize Loading Screen button. This button lives on FancyMenu's menu bar, so if that bar is hidden, the button disappears with it. Once the interface is open, you configure the loading screen directly through its options.

Using a HEX Color Background

The Color [HEX] [Drippy] setting is described as a simple HEX color background. To use it, open Configure Color Background and enter a color value in HEX format. If the value you typed is not a valid HEX color, the interface shows invalid color and tells you that you need to input a valid HEX color first. Correct the value and the color background applies.

Setting a Background Image

The set image option under Set Background Image lets you choose the picture used behind the loading screen. This is separate from the bar and watermark images, which have their own set background and set progress options for the loading bar, and set image for the watermark.

Preserving and Restoring Aspect Ratio

preserve aspect ratio (shown as Preserve Background Aspect Ratio) keeps your background image from being stretched or squashed when it is drawn. If you change the ratio and want to go back, use Restore Aspect Ratio to return it to the original proportions.

Universal Layouts

Allow Universal Layouts controls whether universal layouts are applied to the loading screen; its description states that this determines if universal layouts should get applied there. Turn it on if you want those layouts to affect this screen, and off if you do not.

Other Layout and Display Options

Several position and size controls are available for individual elements:

  • Set Logo Position Offset moves the logo.
  • Set Bar Position Offset moves the loading bar.
  • Set Watermark Position Offset and Set Watermark Size adjust the watermark's placement and dimensions.
  • Set Early Loading Window Size and Set Early Loading Window Title adjust the early loading window.

For progress display, vanilla bar provides a Vanilla-Like Game Loading Bar, which only shows real progress when used inside a Drippy layout. Alternatively, loading progress percent shows the current game loading progress as a percentage.

Fading, Textures, and the Early Loading Screen

fade out loading screen (Fade-In/Out Loading Screen) makes the screen fade in and out like the Vanilla one, though it only fades in when resources are being reloaded. early fade out elements decides whether loading screen elements begin fading before the background does. Wait For Textures in Loading makes the mod hold until loading screen textures are ready, preventing flicker during resource reloads; disable it if you get freezes.

Customize EARLY Loading Screen lets you style NeoForge's early loading screen, the plain screen shown before Drippy's own. This requires the Drippy Early Loading Module; without it you see module missing, a dependency notice explaining the module is required. Early Loading Preview lets you preview that early screen. Finally, Hide Logger Overlay hides the logger overlay.
