Gathering and Processing Basic Metals

Your first steps in Eidolon:Repraised involve securing a steady supply of silver, lead, and iron. Raw silver ore and raw lead ore are your primary sources for ingots. You can process these raw ores, or their block forms, in a furnace or a blast furnace. Smelting and blasting both yield the corresponding ingot from raw ore, the ore block, or the metal dust. Silver dust and lead dust, which fall under the common dust tag, are also valid furnace and blast furnace inputs.

For bulk storage, you can reverse the process. A block of silver or lead can be broken down into nine ingots using a shapeless crafting recipe. Likewise, nine nuggets of either metal can be combined into a single ingot. If you have silver armor, such as a silver helmet, you can reclaim silver nuggets by blasting the armor piece.

Crafting Pewter and Blends

Pewter is a crucial alloy for early progression. To make a pewter blend, combine one lead ingot with one iron ingot in a shapeless crafting grid. This mixture is not yet usable; you must smelt or blast the pewter blend to produce a pewter ingot. Like the other metals, a pewter block can be broken down into ingots, and nine pewter nuggets can be assembled into an ingot.

Smelting and Blasting Outputs

Both the furnace and the blast furnace share a core set of recipes for these base materials. The furnace has eleven smelting recipes, while the blast furnace has ten blasting recipes. Common to both are the processing of raw silver, silver ore, silver dust, raw lead, lead ore, lead dust, and pewter blend into their respective ingots. Crushed raw silver and crushed raw lead are also valid furnace recipes that yield the corresponding ingot.

The key difference between the two heat sources appears in their secondary outputs. Smelting bone in a furnace yields two Enchanted Ash. You can also smelt a bone block to get six Enchanted Ash. In contrast, the blast furnace does not process bone or bone blocks. Instead, blasting rotten flesh produces Tallow, a useful byproduct not obtainable through smelting.

Early Machine and Tool Considerations

There are no complex machines required for these initial steps. A basic furnace and a blast furnace will cover all your metal and byproduct needs. Prioritize building a blast furnace early, as it gives you access to Tallow from rotten flesh, which is a renewable resource if you have a mob farm. The furnace remains valuable for producing Enchanted Ash from bones, which you will likely need in larger quantities for other recipes.

Keep your ore processing organized. Since both furnaces handle the same metal recipes, you can run them in parallel to double your output speed. Store your ingots as blocks to save space, and always keep a supply of iron ingots on hand for pewter blending. The crushed ore forms are interchangeable with raw ore for smelting, so use whichever you have available.

Once you have a stockpile of silver, lead, and pewter ingots, along with Enchanted Ash and Tallow, you will have the foundational materials needed to explore the mod's more advanced crafting paths. The early game is straightforward: mine, smelt, and combine these base resources to build your inventory for the next stage of your work.
