Elytra Trims: Customizing Your Elytra

Elytra Trims lets you decorate the elytra with armor trims, dyes and banner patterns, so your wings match your look. This guide covers the customization options.

Armor trims on elytra

The mod lets you apply armor trims to an elytra just as you would to armor, using a smithing template, the elytra and a trim material at a smithing table. This brings the full palette of vanilla trim patterns and materials to your wings.

Dyeing and banners

Beyond trims, you can dye an elytra any color and apply banner patterns to it, letting you fly a custom design or emblem. The mod's smithing recipes combine a decoratable elytra with items — for example a Nether Star, a Glow Ink Sac, or a banner with paper — to apply these special decorations.

Using it

Because Elytra Trims is largely cosmetic, it fits any playstyle: take your elytra to a smithing table and add a trim, a color, or a banner pattern to personalize it. In multiplayer the mod must be installed on the server, though players without it can still join. It is a pure quality-of-life and cosmetic upgrade for anyone who spends a lot of time gliding.
