Fluid, Item, and Ember Transport and Storage Infrastructure in Embers Rekindled
Fluid, item, and ember transport plus storage infrastructure in Embers Rekindled covers the blocks that move resources between machines and hold them for later use. The mod provides dedicated devices for each resource type, and several of them build on one another through crafting.
Moving Fluids
Fluid handling starts with the
Fluid Extractor, a device made from two
Redstone Dust, two
Fluid Pipe, and one
Caminite Plate in a shaped recipe. It serves as the pulling component for fluid systems.
To push fluid rather than pull it, you craft the
Mechanical Pump. Its shaped recipe combines two
Fluid Pipe, four
Iron Plate, two
Caminite Brick, and one
Fluid Extractor. Because the
Fluid Extractor is an ingredient, you must build at least one extractor before any pump can be made.
Moving Items
Item logistics use the
Item Extractor, crafted in a shaped recipe from two
Redstone Dust, two
Item Pipe, and one
Caminite Plate. It is the item-side counterpart to the fluid extractor and shares the same redstone and caminite requirements, differing only in the pipe type used.
Storing Fluids
Two blocks handle fluid storage. The smaller of the two is the
Fluid Vessel, a shaped recipe of four
Caminite Brick, two
Iron Plate, and one
Iron Ingot.
The larger option is the
Reservoir, which is built from four
Caminite Bricks, two
Iron Ingot, and one
Fluid Vessel. Since the
Fluid Vessel appears in the recipe, a reservoir cannot be crafted until you have made at least one vessel first.
Storing Ember
Ember storage is handled by the
Crystal Cell. Its shaped recipe requires two
Ember Crystal, two
Dawnstone Plate, two copper storage blocks from the `#forge:storage_blocks/copper` tag, and one
Block of Dawnstone. The tag means any copper storage block that satisfies the forge tag will work in those two slots.
How the Recipes Fit Together
A clear progression runs through these recipes. Caminite appears in nearly every device: as
Caminite Brick in the
Fluid Vessel,
Mechanical Pump, and
Reservoir; and as
Caminite Plate in both the
Item Extractor and the
Fluid Extractor. Iron shows up as
Iron Plate in the
Fluid Vessel and
Mechanical Pump, and as
Iron Ingot in the
Fluid Vessel and
Reservoir.
Redstone dust is the common trigger material for both extractors, while pipes determine what each extractor handles:
Fluid Pipe for fluids,
Item Pipe for items. The
Fluid Extractor then feeds into the
Mechanical Pump, making it a prerequisite for pump construction.
Ember storage stands apart from the rest. The
Crystal Cell shares no ingredients with the fluid or item devices; it relies on
Ember Crystal,
Dawnstone Plate,
Block of Dawnstone, and tagged copper storage blocks instead.
Planning Your Build Order
If you want a complete transport and storage setup, craft in dependency order. Make
Caminite Plate and
Caminite Brick first, since they gate most recipes. Then build the
Fluid Vessel so the
Reservoir becomes available. Craft the
Fluid Extractor before the
Mechanical Pump, because the pump consumes it. The
Item Extractor can be made whenever you have
Item Pipe,
Redstone Dust, and
Caminite Plate on hand. The
Crystal Cell is independent and can be assembled separately once you have its ember and dawnstone components.
Each device fills a distinct role: extractors pull their resource, the pump pushes fluid, vessels and reservoirs hold fluid, and the crystal cell stores ember.
